G'Day to everyone from Tasmania Australia Great to be a part of this forum - I was previously a member under "Triumph Forever" but I felt that was a bit pretentious so hence my new name Really looking forward to getting heaps of advice and assistance to keep my old girl running ( '98 Trophy 1200) Here she is.................. Cheers Gary
Hi 57, That's a remarkably clean machine, almost like new ! How many klms up and any mods ? What plans do you have, keep it original or theme . there is plenty of support here for whatever you plan. Cheers Mick
Thanks mick It has 150000 km on the speedo. Runs like a dream. Doesnt use any oil no cam chain chatter. I got it cheap as the left fairing was scratched from a tip over so i took all three fairings off and had them repainted. Seriously looks like a new bike. I am saving up to get the tank done and she willbe complete Fantastic bike to ride. Each time i feel like getting a new trophy i look at her go for a ride and i am hooked again. Just cant get myself to sell it Cheers Gary
Hi Gary, Almost as many klms as my 94 trident, had it 6 1/2 yrs did 161,000 klms, sold it mid 2000, spotted it again in 2013 @ the numduc rally it had 36,000 klms showing, I spoke to the new owner, we worked it out it had done in the vicinity of 250/260 thousand (speedo died & replaced etc). My latest bike is 08" America now showing just over 103,000 klms. The early T300 motors are very tuff, and some easy mods release some useful horse power gains plus boost torque. Cheers Mick.
Cheers everyone for the responses You are right capt - these motors are so well engineered they are as solid as a rock I am hoping to have the speedo turn over 200000 kms!
I will be keeping it stock - no cafe racers for me lol. The old Trophys are so cool and unique i have only seen 3 on the road down here in tassie. Love the old school gauges and clock no expensive electrics that can fail. I will hopefully be keeping her for a long time Cheers guys
Welcome Gary! Great bike! Man, Tasmania. Still on my bucket-list. Guess, we have to send our messages to you in cryo-sleep, so that they won't grow to old on the way... Oh, I forgot: we have pigeons now...
