im in two minds whether to buy a 16 or a 15 it will be my first s3 any who wants to weigh in will be much appreciated Thanks in advance
Best advice I can give is to try them both and see which you like best. I have a 2015 S3s but I have ridden a 2016 R and I didn't like it enough to consider changing.
If you want and can afford a new one, then that's the bike for you . But if you are not bothered about having a new bike then the old one is just as good and loads cheaper, both bikes are very good and great fun to ride but only you can make that decision lol.
I had the choice between a 2015 (16 plate) 94R, and a 2016 s model. I opted for the earlier model due to a few factors. 1. The pentagonal lights (much maligned in 2011) are much nicer than the new teardrop shaped efforts. In my opinion of course... 2. The better quality suspension parts were worth the loss of a computer to me. 3. When I saw the bike in the flesh, I just HAD to have it. Only you can decide what's right for you though. Test ride is EVERYTHING. Good luck with you choice mate. BOB
I've owned both, and I wouldn't rush to up graded from a 2015 to a 2016 as they are both great bikes, the 2016 (in my opinion) is a better bike. But price is the biggest factor.
As everyone said...test ride both for a few hours through different terrains . Twistys , bad roads, motorways n stop start traffics. If money is not an option then I believe the newer model will give you a lenghty warranty . Regardless try both . All the best buddy
I've had a 2011 and still have a 2013 Speed, I had a long test ride on a brand new 2016 R and it felt quite tame, as in the electronics took away the pure brutal feel of my Speed - it was smooth, almost too smooth but if thats what you want then go for it... it felt like a Street triple tbh and thats not a bad thing but i found the front wasn't as 'planted' as mine at anything above 80 and felt too light? But as the others have said have a decent test ride or 3 and make your own choice. I certainly wouldn't trade mine in for a new one but that only my opinion
Did you notice the difference in engine braking? When you roll of the throttle on the new one I've heard it doesn't have the same engine braking which is one of the things i really like about the older model
Everything just felt lighter, smoother and more refined, more modern I suppose I personally prefer my 13 Plate because it's more brutal if that makes sense
Test ride done, what a fantastic bike, great throttle response and very keen brakes, easy to manoeuvre Now need to do the right deal on price
Lol, the roads are crap with loads of salt on them so you are not missing anything. Hope you got a good deal
Yeah tried a couple of places the one I took test ride at didn't really do a great deal, so I asked around a couple mor dealers and they came down quite a bit, went back to the original dealer who wouldn't even match, so went to the lowest offer and bartered down a little more and signed on the dotted so to speak
