Cool.... Mines a 2011 bug eye and it confused the hell out of me as I'd got used to using the VIN for everything but then it started going by engine number for certain bits ha ha
Ah, I see what you are saying now, I went by VIN number on the Triumph website for the gaskets, no option to select by engine number. I will be careful to check this when they arrrive. Thanks for the heads up
Sadly after about 100 mile I'm getting a little clutch drag again.... Think it may be time to clean the plates again and throw some Silkolene/Motul in Unless someone has a better suggestion of oil brand ?
Silkolene is the best oil, put plates in boiling water with a drop of fairy liquid and soak them and give them a scrub Then soak in fresh oil in the tray after boiling them, that's the best you can do without fitting new. Worth a go
When I do mine, should I soak the new plates in oil first, even go so far as heat it a little to help the oil get absorbed? And with the friction (metal) plates, I am considering rubbing them down with brake cleaner and a cloth or a little wet n dry to remove any residue if needed. Hopefully not though Is there any other maintenance that can be done on the bike while I have the casings off? What about the cam chain tensioner, new spring maybe if htis can be done now :/ ?
I use Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T 10W/40 Motorcycle Engine Oil - 4ltr(Fully Synthetic) £40 from Halfors or cheaper online, I bough 4 bottles of the stuff and change oil ever 7500 / 8000 mile
yeah, that font change was me cutting and pasting from Amazon, couldn't work out how to change it back to smaller type
