TCX infinity evolution gtx boots anyone got them?

I just bought some of these TCX boots and went out on my Speedy today. Real struggle to change gear! Not sure whether they just need a while to break in but really struggled to get the boot under the gear lever. The sole is so grippy it felt as if it was locking onto the foot peg too? I struggled to pivot my toe around and then under the gear lever. Anyone else riding a speedy got these boots?

 

I have a pair of the previous GTX, which I bought when I had my R1200GS. They were great on that, but do not suit the leg/ankle angle on a bike such as the Speed Triple for me. Cleaned and safely tucked away in the loft for now.

Is it possible to adjust the position of the gearchange lever and raise it to gain clearance?

 

Yeah tried that but still no good, going to return them and go for a sport tour boot instead.

 

Daytona Spirit XCR boots http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/97722 are the best boots I have had in 33 years of biking. Bought them last year and can't fault them. They are secure but feel like slippers.
