just fitted the heated grips, must say they look great, other than a small button on the clutch side you'd never know they were there. Impressed that they link to the dash as well, so over all I think they manage to justify their price.
I popped a set on my Thruxton R a few months back. Theyre really coming into their own now. Top bit of kit (wish they were about £50 cheaper though).
Whooses! Thruxton owners are meant to be hard, roughty , toughty types wearing t shirts in -5 degrees.....well,.,, apart from me that is!!
I used to have heated gloves when i cottum......cummot.......used to ride to work, but things have changed.
hi, i am looking at putting some grips on the r is it a big job ?? had a look at truimph instructions seems not to bad .couple of questions if you dont mind me asking how easy is the tank to remove any hints tips pesky clips etc also when reading the destructions its says about the fitting of the heated grip to the aps assembly in the sevice manual is this truimph saying it needs to be done by dealer or is it just unsrew and replace the throttle tube hope you can help jason
Had mine fitted as an optional extra prior to purchase. So sorry cannot help you with the more technical issue regarding fitment. Got fed up wearing heated gloves with wires! It is a very tidy package & uber efficient
No need to take the tank off Jason, just undo the bolt at the rear & slide it backwards a little (I found it less stressful to cover the tank in an old t-shirt to prevent scratches) The rest Ill have to check out the instructions again ,cos it was about a year ago when I did mine & frankly I struggle to remember what I did last week I seem to remember there's a couple of small torx headed nuts inside the headlamp shell to undo (although I'm almost sure the job can be done without digging into the headlight and pulling plugs as it was only a precaution) Sorry mate, I realize that's of no help whatsoever
I'm fed up with cold hands now its beginning to get a bit nippy and have just ordered the Triumph heated grips for my Thruxty R and booked to get them fitted by my local dealer next week. Looks relatively easy to fit...however I have zero spare time to fit them, so getting my dealer to do it.
