First of all Hello from a newbie!! I have been looking through the set up of my Speed triple 1050 dashboard. After scrolling through the menu ( time, units, shift, odo )the wording 'SIA' ( could be 51A) appeared where the speed numbers would normally be shown. I know it is over due a service by 120 miles but I will be doing my own servicing. But I am not sure what this means as there is no mention of it in the handbook. Any help would be appreciated.
I managed to get a picture to clarify the wording. I have asked a couple of my Speed mates and none of them have seen this! Any thoughts?
Just hazarding a guess here but I would think the S may be for SERVICE given it has a spanner next to it. No idea what the 1A stands for but expect it is related.
Had a quick search and SIA = Service interval announcement. Check out this LINK especially posts 8 & 11, for more info.
Many thanks for your help the link was very useful. I just need to decide if I ride up to Plymouth (160 miles round trip) to get the service reset done or just ignore it. I fancy doing all the servicing myself so I know it has been done correctly and I learn more about the bike! Perhaps it will just go away after a while if I ignore it, that seems to happen with most other things in life!!
The only way to turn it off is with a Dealer Tool, I think they can be brought here, http://dealertoolcouk.ipage.com/
Using the free Tuneecu program along with an OBD2 lead can remove fault codes but unsure if it can also remove service schedules.
Nice one with a Dealer Tool link. I do all the maintenance myself. Now I can do the necessary service and turn off the Service indicator and set for the next due service . Thanks a million
Hi mate I use bike tec in padstow Pete the main man they have a dyno and I am sure They can turn your service light of 01841 533900 Give him a ring always had a good service from them Regards Tony
Tony, Thanks for the info. I will ring them tomorrow and see if they are willing and able to turn off my spanner. Jak
If you use TuneECU on Android via Bluetooth I believe you can reset the service interval (see here about 3/4 down). My 94R is still in warranty so haven't checked it out myself yet.
Thanks for the info Col C, but I only have Iphone and macbook. I am hoping to borrow my wife's work lap top and install the software on that ( i have to persuade her yet)!
Tony B. The guy you mentioned does have all the kit to remove the 'Wrench' but his kit is away being calibrated at the moment. He sounded a little confused when I spoke to him on the phone so I will ride up there and talk to him in person. I often find that face to face works better!
Hi mate I haven't taken my triumph to him yet but he done a fine job fixing my zxr1200 but I know he had the kit, you probably be better off calling in when he got the kit back. regards Tony hi jester I am back to work Monday I will call in and speak to Pete and I will find out what he will charge to reset service light Tony
