So what does everyone think about the new ruleing that pre 1960 motorbike do no longer require an MOT test
Im thinking its good if you have a pre 1960 bike & also that there will be a lot of rusty relic motorbikes back on the road that are quite possibly death traps
Yeah but the people who are likely to put a pre 60s bike back on the road are the ones that tend to look after them and wouldn't ride a death trap. 9 times out of 10 a 17 year old lad would prefer an r6 with an mot rather than restoring a matchless enough to get it running and riding do you not think?
i'm well chuffed as i have a few pre 60 bikes but wouldn't dream of just getting one out and just riding it ,i'd put fresh petrol in it first..... oh and check the oil..... and make sure the breakdown covers still in date .
That sounds like a line from 'The Dukes of Hazzard'! Mind you, that Daisy could've had it, even for a biggish bird!
What worries me is that it applies to all vehicles. How about this as a concern. New vehicles do not need an MOT for 3 years. Who is to say that the mech doing the PDI is any good. Had a 3 yr old car that broke its gearbox. On removal the garage found rusty parts - no oil from new, well very little.
Daisy certainly wern't no biggish bird... Well fit.. http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2005/specials/beauties05/remakespoll/jsimpson.jpg
