2018 Bonnie Speedmaster, 5600 miles. Bought new in 2019. I was about 40 miles into a 60-mile trip and on my way home. I pulled over and shut her down to take some photos of a local landmark. This took about a minute. The bike started up fine, but as I pulled out onto the highway it did a strange thing. Going through the gears she started "chugging" and losing power. I heard a clacking noise and pulled off the highway. I sat there for a bit, and it seemed to be idling OK. I pulled out onto the highway, and she took off like nothing ever happened. Never had anything like this happen before. I stopped off at a favorite watering hole, had two beers and headed home. Again, no further issues, shifted fine and power was all there. Anyone have any idea what this was?
Maybe. I added a bit of carb/injector cleaner to this current tank. I checked the chain. Seems to be in specs. Hoping it was an aberration, or as I titled this thread - a hiccup. I'll just ride it for now and see if there's a reoccurrence.
