Last day off from work today and more dry weather :). I took my Street Triple and Helmut his Tuono and we met some friends in Ludlow to ride to Poolehall Fisheries near Alveley, we had a very sedate pace there as my friend on L plates that I went out with the other day was out with her husband. We all said our farewells at Poolehall and then Helmut and I had a more spirited ride back (well, as spirited as the huge amount of traffic on the road allowed for!). It was another lovely day out and the fifth in a row for me, just the ticket after the wet miserable winter :).

Took Doris for her 1st run since remapping for TORS, runs lovely and doesn't abuse those BMW owners sensitive ears, why they can't turn their hearing aidas down, I don't know!! She'll be the last bike I sell doris26.jpeg

Crikey, looks like an OAP day out. Give it 10 years and all those bikes will be replaced by mobility scooters. The clientele will be the same though, just different transport.

Pulled the Trophy 900 out from where it's been parked up the last 6 months and gave her a wash and clean also ran her up. Yesterday got passed OK to resume normal life and be able to ride again however just moving the Trophy out and moving to where I washed it showed how much I need to build up my right arm. Have finished the cleaning and adjusting the tyre pressures just waiting to the patch she is stood in to dry up a bit before moving her back under cover and sitting and writing this my right tricep is still complaining 6 months of doing very little is sure showing now.

The weather would have been good for a ide today is was fairly warm with sunshine most of the day but life got in the way and they are forecasting rain and temps down to 8c for the next 5 days.

Well the weather was dry not too cold but with a horrible blustery wind that was quite strong in it's gusts did not realise just how strong until was out on the Trophy. Probably did about 50 miles was out for about an hour no rain as yet but it's not 11am as yet. Trophy is parked up again under cover now.

Had one moment coming into a left hand curve seems that the accident has effected me more than I realised. Need to build confidence as well as strength back up.

Good you got out, but if it’s too soon you’re best not to push it or things could go south in a hurry. Be safe

I purposely take things very easy for the first few rides of the year, not riding for more than a couple of hours in total so I can maintain my concentration. I try and choose quiet times to ride too and ride on roads that are dry and free of debris until I'm match fit again. Take your time during those early rides, I remember one of the sayings our chief observer used to use about bends in the 1980s, in slow out fast, in fast out feet first.

I have no choice but to take it easy but at least have been given the go ahead to start doing more. Now the roads around here are what you would call quiet I did maybe 2km on a main road but even that is only two lanes one for each direction at 09: 50 it was also fairly quiet with only light traffic then it was back onto what most would call back lanes it reminds me of when I first starting riding on a 47cc KTM Comet Cross sports moped at 16years old.

On my short rides on the Shadow VT600 while sussing out it's little issues I liked it's handling and felt more at home on it than I ever did on the Ducati. In the morning have to drive the 25mile round trip to town to get some circlip pliers as mine seem to have vanished as am replacing the seals in the front brake master as it was weeping and from the mess under the rubber boot it had been weeping for a very long time. The fluid was due a change anyway as have no idea as to old it was.
