Upon inspection of my speedometer cable due to a "skipping" of the speedometer cable, I noticed the lower end of the cable at the hub attachment point has a plastic flange with a screw holding the end in place. Half of the plastic flange had broken away.
Other forums have mentioned that both Honda and Suzuki have some cables compatible with the Bonneville, but they seem to all have the plastic "keeper" for the attachment screw.Built to fail just like the OEM Triumph cable.
Is anyone aware of a fix to strengthen the plastic screw flange?
