Question About Thing In My Bonneville Tank

    The rubber thing shown in the picture came out ripped when I was changing the fuel pump on my 2014 Bonneville. It appears to route return line fuel to the filter for the fuel pump intake. Is it really needed? Without it the return line fuel would just dump into the tank, which I think would be fine. Does anyone know about this thing? Thanks.

    Not sure, but I think it might be a fuel pump baffle to prevent fuel starvation when cornering and braking etc.
