Never had an 8 series my nephew had an 820 Vitesse but I never got to drive it it was totalled when a new Michelin tyre failed at 60mph sending into the arnaco crash barrier a police car was following and witnessed it all. I had two Rover 75s nephew had one mine were a 2000 75 2.5 Connoisseur auto in White Gold with Aubergine leather interior later I bought a non runner 75CDT (2.0 BMW M20 diesel engine BMW owned Rover for w hile during the design of the Rover 75 model) auto in Red with charcoal cloth interior Classic trim the ECU had been flooded had it repaired and it was remapped to 160bhp. In the past ha a couple of Ital's a 1700 estate and 1.3 saloon and of course the Triumph Spitfire Mk2 (1964) my first sportscar.

It's bloody cold outside just knocked up a wooden ramp so get the bikes into the "workshop" it's 41cm wide and 120cm long will do until can get a proper concreted one in place.

Edit : weather forecast lied again as it's snowing again already got more than they said.

Long before my MGF (which was trouble free!) I had an oldish Montego (terrible leaky old thing), my daughter had a great little Metro as her first car, and I had a few of those 60's gems - a Mini Cooper, Austin 1100 and 1300GT all of which I have fond memories of....

I had a 70's P6, Rover 2200SC which blew a head gasket and needed the rear suspension mount welded, but was a very nice car and a modern Rover 214i which was also a decent car.

But the MGF was the best one!

Edit: just remembered I had a Triumph Toledo as well (I've had a lot of cars!), does that count? Bought as a non-runner it got 2 new front wings and a Triumph Spitfire engine.....

That reminded me that I missed out the Triumph Dolomite 1500HL.

Dad had an Austin 1100 (TPA 495F) that was nice car and he had it for many years he got rid of it after the ear subframe rusted the repair was more than he was willing to pay.

Now the weather is not cooperating it has actually stopped snowing right now but the clouds are still there so we probably will get more and the frost is not helping but ......................... Thursday and Friday they are saying it will actually get above freezing assuming there are not wrong yet again those are the days we have been aiming at for registration. Have not heard from the dealer yet as to if the tyres arrived and are fitted or not I did not go out today but tomorrow have to go and draw money to make sure have enough to pay the balance and the insurance and fees for registration and get some tablets if I don't hear by tomorrow evening will have to call and see if there is a problem.

Got a call from the dealers son letting me know that his dad felt well enough to fit the new tyres and remove the backrest as I asked him to while he had the rear wheel out. It looks much better without the backrest fitted at least to my eyes.

Once the weather improves we will take it to KAT for the registration the problem that still remains to be resolved is how to get it home after registration the dealer is trying to figure something out for me if not will have to scrounge a lift to the city and hire a van. Not ideal as loading it into a van could place strain on my injuries that could possibly be bad. The city is actually almost snow free we still have some now odd as this may sound freezing temps that keep the ground hard would actually help get the bike into my store/workshop as it would do away with the wet slippery mud in the yard and outside our place.

Now we just need the weather to cooperate a little and can get her registered as you can see the backrest has been removed making for a cleaner look and easier to swing the leg over.

@Plezier Looking very good indeed. You have a bit of rust on the end of the exhaust you need to clean and treat that before it starts to eat the pipe and internals.

That is not surprising really after all it is 26 years old but I will treat that even although the plan is to replace the exhaust with a set of Marving long drags in stainless. It will be a few months for this to happen this gives me time to soak the nuts/studs on the headers and for it to warm up making working on the bike far more pleasant and of course to order the exhausts.

Marving say they come with fitting kit so I need to check what that includes and see if it has the ring gaskets for the heads or not and if I need to get carb jetting kit for them or not. Probably do if the pipes are less restrictive if the carbs have to come off then bearing in mind the age then probably best to replace the mounting rubbers for the carbs another reason to wait for warmer weather.

Anyway got message from the sellers son looks like it might be possible to get the Shadow VT600 registered this week that's OK the access to my place is still a bit of an issue though the ground is so wet that th chances of the bike ending up on it's side even if just being pushed is high. Although it's a bit fiddly might be easier to get it in through the normal man gate rather than the double gates as there is stone path for a few feet outside the gate and once through it's stone an she can sit there under cover until it dries up enough to get her inside properly. AND rain is forecast for this afternoon and Mon, Tues and Weds this week.

Have just sent a message asking if we can still register it this week but if he could continue to store in until it dries out enough to get in safely. Will have to pay of course and by them should be passed fit to ride........................ Hopefully! Meanwhile the son added phots of two new stock bikes Yamaha Drag Star and what looks like an 1100 Shadow

The Yam looks in nice condition the Shadow not so nice.

That's what I thought if I had not bought the VT600 from him would have been looking at those with interest. The Yam with the hard tailed look especially.

It seems that the seller is quite happy to store the bike for me until the conditions and weather improve so it should be sorted with registration later this week.

Update .................after not being able to move the car for a week yesterday managed to finally dig it out and by using stone and roof tiles in the "trench" managed to move it off the "grass" outside onto what is left of the stone village track had to do the digging out twice as it moved about 20 feet then got stuck again. Anyway the car is now usable again and this morning the son messaged me and asked if it was OK to do the registration this week so have an early morning tomorrow as the dealer wants to meet at the KAT depot in the morning at 08:30 that means leaving by 07:45 at the latest traffic will probably be heavier than I usually see with people heading to work so should allow extra time to get there I normally avoid commute times.

Here he is at the KAT depot and now registered here in Bulgaria now I did take my gear thinking of maybe riding it home then getting a lift to go collect the car but while waiting to the insurance guy blow me down it started snowing add in the round outside my place is only slowly drying out I did walk a path that may have let me get it in but in the end decided to let it go back to safe dry store with the dealer until weather improves but now have the registration documents in my name as well as insurance. I must admit to getting ansty about not being able to ride but am not daft enough to try my Triumph Trophy it's quite a bit heavier with most of it higher up add in the seat height where I cannot flat foot properly so regaining the strength in my arm would be prudent before taking the Trophy out.

I have a new helmet to break in after all hopefully it will not be as noisy as my LS2 Rapid one was and I believe it fits better for a start. The leather jacket that I was wearing in the accident has mesh panels in arms and torso ideal for warmer weather not ideal for this time of year but I do have another solid leather jacket but it's a bit smaller and although I can wear it doing it up is a task ........................ need to lose a bit of weight sitting about for months has not helped any. A new leather jacket is in the plans one that fits.
