Hi everybody. I'm Santo, from Prato (PO) in Italy, 57 years old (yes, 68 is my birth year) and i've just bought my first Triumph, a (little) used Bonneville T120 2025 in jet black suite. I'm a total newbie with this bike, so any info will be really appreciated. I'm taking it in change of my Royal Enfield Meteor 350 that i bought new in 2022 and that i've ride for 57000 Km. It has been a great bike, but I fell literally in love with the Bonnie, and caught the occasion to realize a dream. In my garage there is also a Piaggio Vespa PX 150, that i'm planning to sell shortly. Hope to enjoy your company. Have a good day everybody
Hi Santo, welcome to the forum, from North Wales. I also have a T120, 2020 in Storm grey and Orange. Enjoy the Bonnie. Did i mention my Tiger 900 Aragon Edition. T.
Thanks everybody. The bike is still at the dealer, 200 km from my house, and I've planned to go to get her on Friday 13 . While waiting I bought the Beeline Moto II GPS, a support to bolt it on the steering clamp, the original Triumph central stand and tank rubber pad, the engine crash bars from Motone, a set of GIVI S312 aux lights to mount on these, an original (but used) radiator grille, two helmet locks from Motone too, a small magnetic tank bag, and a pair of locks for the leather bags left from the previous owner. (I hope nothing will delay my route, or I'll risk to end the money buying stuff and don't have spare for the gasoline...)
@PanDemonio68 Welcome to the family. Lovely Bonnie. And one of the favourite colours here in the family. Thanks for the great picture. Its always great when you have a dream come to being. Ride and enjoy the great bike. Not that the other machines are any less desirable.
Welcome from the US! Lovely bike! It looks like a nice [engine power] upgrade from a 350, no? It should save a few gear shifts with the extra power! I also like the generous windscreen. I have a Trophy SE with the electric windscreen that is my favorite feature vs my Sprint GT with a short windscreen. You certainly live in a country with beautiful scenery! Do you get to the Dolomites with the bike? If so, send photos! As you can see from my cover shot, I am a huge fan of riding in the mountains (PS. I live in NJ, so riding in the Rocky Mountains in the background took a bit of a journey to start!).
Thanks Rob. Yes, the Bonnie's engine is a BIG upgrade from the Royal 350, but it's not the main reason for my change. I got used to the slow but steady pull of the little indian, and enjoyed its agility and simplicity, but the everyday's use was too heavy for her, and the next maintenance quote exceeded the residue value of the bike, so I decided to grab this excellent chance and change to a more robust bike. For the next two years i'll use her to go at work and for some little journeys in nearby (Dolomites are far away from me, but we have nice mountains here in Tuscany too). After my retirement I hope I'll have more time to enlarge the range.
I understand. You've certainly mastered the art of daily commutes with the storage, GPS and amenities from Motone. And yes, my visit to Tuscany revealed beautiful places to tour. When retirement allows, you can certainly broaden your range if you find a way to transport your bike. My travel from New Jersey to Colorado and Utah involved carrying the bike in the back of my pickup in lieu of riding almost 3,000 kms just to start! Good luck with the pick up on the 13th!
