    Hi,
Just had my 1st lesson yesterday (2nd one today). Test date 19th Feb Mod 1, 26th Feb Mod 2.
Lesson involved clutch control, slow riding, figure of 8s and just basic control etc. bike used was a Yamaha MT-07.
Really enjoyed it despite the cold.
Oh and at least the rain has held back which is a bonus!!

I hope the second lesson went as well as the first, I did my tests in winter and it's nice to have them done and have the warmer and drier months to enjoy your first big bike, plus you're riding in less than ideal conditions under supervision and then are not as worried about them than people who wait until summer to do everything :).

    2nd lesson completed.. :)
Today I was paired up with another learner (2 learners per instructor).
Hazard avoidance, emergency stops, U turns & learning how to steer the bike using the hips. (It’s amazing how quickly 2hrs goes by).
No real concerns apart from there’s a lot to take in and think about. I do feel confident on a bike so fingers crossed.
I felt sorry for the girl I was paired up with as she dropped the bike twice on the tight turns. She was ok though, and just carried on (well done to her).
Next Saturday for my next one.

Dropped a few times on my way to A licence, successfully passed at age 71 in October. Moral is hang in there, only minor setbacks to be expected

Good luck! Enjoy the process. From my personal point of view, mod 2 is easier than mod 1. I actually enjoyed mine!

This past week all I’ve been watching is YouTube videos of MOD 1 tests.
My other half who doesn’t really approve of me getting a bike will say “pfff you watching bikes again” lol :joy:

Sounds like the need for plenty of tact when the two wheels subject arises then? It was SWMBO’s suggestion that I get back into biking at the beginning of this century :joy: after a 30 year layoff with the purchase of the Duke. But there are times when it can be compared to treading on egg shells. Something to bear in mind before Foot & Mouth becomes a monumental no, no. o_O
