OK, politics I know, but it needs saying.

"For President Trump to suggest that America’s allies were not fighting on the front line in Afghanistan is not just an insult, it’s simply untrue.
Nato allies were with the US from the start - soon after the attacks on New York on the 11 September 2001. Those attacks remain the only time that Nato has invoked Article 5 - stating that an attack on one ally is deemed an attack on all.
Far from staying away from the front line, Britain and Canada placed troops in the most dangerous provinces of all - the Taliban heartlands of Helmand and Kandahar. In Helmand, the scene of the heaviest fighting, British troops were joined by Danish and Estonian soldiers. All suffered casualties in the heat of battle.
Most of the 457 British troops who died serving in Afghanistan over a period of nearly 20 years were killed in Helmand. Hundreds more suffered injuries and lost limbs. They are still living with the consequences today.
One of them, Ben McBean, wrote on social media: “As I sit here with two limbs missing, friends gone, trying to keep it all together for my family, it’s infuriating to hear this come out of Donald Trump’s mouth".

I hope you're proud of him.
If you don't like politics being posted, just ignore. Not difficult.

YEP, and this from a 'draft dodger' claiming "heel spurs"! How anybody could be proud of that fatf*ck's record is beyond me but, hey, that's politics.

He should be put in a room with a couple of soldiers who were there. That would shut the orange fool up.

More poignantly, perhaps, leave him (and Melania?) in a room with a veteran's bereaved spouse and other relatives .........

Possibly the worst thing to come out of the Orange Buffoon's mouth, and that's a long and distinguished list! I can't work out if he actually believes what he's saying, or he's clueless and his mouth works faster than his brain.

The latter ..... though that is a bit presumptious insomuch as it suggests the Orange Slug has a functioning brain.

Trump is a colossal POS who has surrounded himself with sycophants who are violating the constitution on a daily basis. His mental acuity has declined to the point he's only vaguely aware of what's happening. and goes off on tangents like the destruction of the east wing, bullshit gold accents on every square inch of walll in the oval office. The real power behind him is his chief of staff who has absolutely zero redeeming characteristics.

A reminder he only received a PLURALITY of the vote in 2024. (49.6%). A huge if is if the midterm elections coming up in november, the dems will hopefully regain control of house and senate. To rein him in (little chance of enough votes to impeach and convict). But essentially three years left of his rule. If he dies before the end of his term we're stuck with vance who is little better. And the only chance he has of being president is that situation, as magas will never vote for him (he has an Indian wife).

It's horrendous for the rest of the world but it's truly awful here. Especially in democratic led cities like minneapolis where 3000 immigration agents violate the constitution on a regular basis as well killing peaceful protesters. Minneapolis mass protests and measure to protect immigrants gives me some hope. TOday they have a citywide protest against ICE/CBP. Thousands are marching and temps today are -20 below F.!!! These are americans.

Over the course of the past year, we've had two nationwide "no kings" protests which millions attended. I do however have very real concern that trump will try to overturn the election in 28 and not leave office.

I'm not really one to get into any political shenanegans, but I do feel for the 50.4% of Americans who have to live in the orange hooligan's shadow.
There is no doubting the fact that Trump, is a worldwide menace, with no filter whatsoever and no better advising him in the background.
He has said many things that have been extremely offensive, but that last outburst takes the biscuit.
He's a draft dodger, a liar, a cheat, convicted criminal and a thug. Only his money and contacts got him into power, only to exploit his way to greater wealth and more power. (Who said "absolute power corrupts")?
There is no doubt that he will, against the constitution, attempt to run for a third term, if he makes it that far. I fear for all our children and grandchildren, with 80 year old f*****g idiots like this on the loose.

    God help us!!

I agree Jack, talking politics usually ends up in a bad place, but this guy is as dangerous as Putin. I really worry for my seven year old grandson and what kind of world he's going to grow up in :(

To not beat a deadhorse, the comments he made about Nato and countries participation were disgusting. He has a history, in his first term he told his then chief of staff, retired General Kelly, about US veterans. variously calling them losers. At any rate he completely overlooked the massive nato participation under article 5 in afghanistan, as well as participation of coalition forces in iraq.

I promise not to beat this subject to death, but tens of millions of americans are horrified and disgusted.

100% agree @Dawsy that's where I am with all this. He seems to be emboldened with how Putin is getting away with what he's doing in Ukraine, so is appying the monkey see, monkey do principles.
Pete Hegseth is no better with the recent boat carry on, so what is next.
All bets are off for me, these people are going rogue and nobody is stopping them.
