Auckland Chapter headed off early to meet up with Waikato, before joing others on the way.
With highway 3 closed we took the scenic trip down, hoping to ride the Forgotten Highway (SH43) back.

Comfort stop and gassed up for the long ride down. We had a quick catchup with the Waikato crew :cool:

Next stop for fuel was Taumaranui. This allowed the large pack of different skilled riders to regroup. It was then on to National Park for lunch, via a detour across the Saddle and through the forest, past the lakes:party::imp:

We had missed the main group :sob:, due to the awesome detour , so progressed to Wanganui to refill, then on to Taranaki. It was a bit wet and a rider went down, writing his bike off and fracturing his back. He was back on deck the next day :skull: After a few festivities, it was off to bed, ready for the dice run.

The run is always well run, with corner markers and rest stops, and the locations were amazing :sun::cool:

We took the shortest ride home, but the hills were full of loose gravel, so had my first off in 50 years:poop::sob:
Bike and legs were a bit battered, but rode the rest of the 5 hours home, with 2 stops.

Sorry about the bike bud, hopefully you can find the parts to put it right but at least it was fairly minor and you are ok ;)

Great ride report and pictures, sorry to read that you and the other rider had an off moment. The Bonnie does look worse for wear. deep-sigh-smiley-emoticon.gif .
Hopefully you'll get your fixed up soon.

Good on you mate. You will get the bike sorted soon. Take good care of your self. Then another Fifty years of care free riding. Great pictures and of course my favourite has to be what i believe to be a T150.

What a great ride report, @Dartplayer. Makes me wish I could fly there, find myself a Triumph, and join one of your great group rides! As I said in another thread, I'm sorry for your off and hope that both you and your bike are on the mend. Thank goodness for full face helmets, that's for sure. I especially loved the waterfall photo, the Schnapps bar photo, and the smiling photo of the women riders. Your whole group looks like a lot of fun! Looks like you had some nice weather overall, too.:sun: Thanks for taking the time to share your posts! :kissing_heart:
