Getting on in years and parted with a BMWF650GS for a 2017 Street Twin 900 mainly due to reduced height and easier to manage in an out of the garage. Did not bond initially, suspension was spine jarring, bars to low, it is to road orientated for my style of riding. After several mods it now fits my bill. TEC Emulators and light oil in the forks, YSS rear shocks, lower TEC footrests, Rox bar risers 45mm, longer Scrambler clutch cable, brake hose extender nipple, Oxford heated grips, Puig Ranger screen, ( the second screen, the first was destroyed by a famous grouse ) Kappa bags, polypropylene sump guard and best of all the silicone honeycomb seat. Now my 85 year old frame can enjoy a blissful 200 mile ride. Will try to post pics.
I'm pleased you've sorted it so that you can enjoy it over long distances - wishing you many more miles of happiness on it!!
Good for you. 85 and still going strong. Here's to many more happy miles on the road for you. Now all you've got to do is take lots of pictures when you're out and about in stunning Northumberland.
I'm only in my 70's, but have already resorted to riding a smaller, lighter (500cc) bike - full marks to you for keeping on with your Triumph.
Good for you for modifying your Speed Twin to adapt it to YOU rather you trying to adapt it, @Kreb. Enjoy every mile! But I do have to ask. What in the world is the deal with the "famous grouse" that destroyed your Puig screen??
I'mm definitely a whiskey drinker, @MightyBoosh, but Famous Grouse is a new one for me. Thanks for clarifying. I literally had a picture of a grouse hitting @Kreb's screen reminiscent of when a bird flew into my face shield at 70 mph. Well, I was going 70 miles an hour...don't know about the bird.
Thanks all for kind remarks. The "Grouse" was a famous tipple many years ago but regrettably teetotal now. Also ride an Enfield Meteor 350 fitted with chunky Mitas E07's which I relish as much as the Triumph and takes me on sedate green lanes. Oh and looking forward to the arrival of a dainty little 200 Hero Xpulse end of Feb.
