When young my parents took me and my sister camping for many summer holidays. My Dad had a BSA combination in which my sister and me shared the space with all the camping gear. Me mam rode pillion.
    I really enjoyed those holidays.
A spell in the Queens service seen a lot of time in tents under the stars, which I still kind of enjoyed. However, since hitting civi street, wife and kids a caravan served me for many years.
But for motorcycle touring it has always been a room with a bathroom for me.
For those of you that enjoy camping good on yous, but it is definitely not for me anymore.

I’m 65 now and got my Point Five Orion sleeping bag for my 16th birthday back in 1976. It’s generally referred to as old two feather now. .

Well, there's tent camping, which I enjoyed and there's cabin camping, which I enjoyed as well.

Haven't done either in years. The cabins my buddies and I would go to every spring and fall were closed during the COVID mess and we just haven't gotten back to it. One guy passed, two others moved far off and another is chronically ill. The cabin was a hoot! Then there was the tent camping. At 73, I'd still do it, but it's not a lot of fun by oneself. Similar to the cabin bunch, the guys I went tent camping with have moved on to other pursuits and we have fallen out of touch. I miss both types.

I like going by myself, helps me de stress from work. I don't get many weekends off anyway, so tend to be out and about during the week when people are usually not free to come, even if they want to!

@Mrs Visor Same here. I like the company of at least one other but usually end up singlehanded. I don't mind as i usually get talking to others and make new fries. Tracy hates well not hates but just doesn't find it to her tastes

Have always loved camping, particularly the trips to the Island but have not done it for a number of years now. I think camping injects adventure into any trip. So much so that I’m seriously thinking about one of these tents

@Baza That's a great tent. Just ordered on as my tent was cold and had condensation when in it. Plus the big bonus is you can build it easier.

I've seen these three second tents. I'm intrigued! The little tent I used for a few years was like a canvas coffin. It was great as far as being weatherproof and it kept me dry through a couple hellacious storms but confining in bad weather. I always had to set up near a pavilion or such so I wasn't stuffed in that little thing if the weather was bad all day.

I think the biggest caution with them would be in windy weather; quite a few didn't survive the wind at the ABR and it wasn't really horrendous but was strong. I have also seen one come off badly in the wind when I went to Wales last year. The appeal of something that convenient is strong though!
