Peru Or Costa Rica

I am already over this winter wonderland, I've got a bunch of miles built up on a soon to be bankrupt airline, and my birthday is coming up in January.
So I am going to head south rent a small dual sport and ride around in the sun. I have ridden around Costa Rica and know it well, but with plenty more places I've yet to explore. Riding the Pan American highway there is controlled chaos vs El Salvador it is just chaos (I was almost killed by a cop car passing a truck in a blind curve in my lane).
My question is where to ride that Spirit Airlines services. I am leaning towards Peru, but I've never been there. Anyone have recommendations?

 

Update. My flights into Peru are limited to Lima which while not cold this time of year it is a long ride to tropical weather. Starting to plan a route starting in Cartagena, Columbia.
