Hey all. I have a 2024 Tiger 900 Rally pro and this broken rear wheel spokes saga is keeping me up at night. I tour 3-4 weeks at a time including high speed motorways and trails, and last thing i want is broken spokes on my bike to cancel my holidays. i have so far had 8.5k miles without issue, and am loving the bike however i am seeing a lot of reports of broken spokes.
SO: i bought 2 spare wheels, a rear spoked RP wheel and a rear GT pro cast wheel. Now, i know the pre 24 wheels are interchangeable between the RP and the GT, and i compared internals on the parts diagrams.
However, what i didnt realise is the 24+ have some different part numbers than the pre 24 when it comes to stuff like sprocket carriers (not to mention different rear brakes, different pads).

My question is, and given that wheel assembly part number is the same for the pre 24 and the 24+ RP, has anybody had experience in swapping the rear pre 23 RP wheel onto a 24+ RP bike ?

    TIA

Personally, rather than go to all that expense and trouble, I would have elected to buy a set of Kineo Wire Wheels from HPS. These can handle anything, road or trail.

    All that expense?
900 gt pro wheel with a tpms cost me £200 off ebay, bearings £15.
Kineo wheels from bikeHPS is over 1.5k.

Spokes are the reason I opted for the gt pro over the rally to me i know they have some huge advantages when off road but for anything else it seems like going backwards cleaning maintenance just seems a bit counter productive i obviously have them on the Thunderbird but that's the nature of the beast in which what the bike is supposed to be recreating but at least the rims are alloy another draw back is these spoked wheels with original fitment having tubed tyres
