    Check the wiring, mine is mint and only is an issue if the lever is tapped too softly I.e. someone on the back so sat different.

    We are talking over 4000 revs, aren't we?
    I don't use mine under that and change gear with the clutch.

    Definitely something amiss as normally faster gets better. Mine is faultless, could it be a timing issue although I would expect only a dealer could read that.

    Is it worth asking a main dealer for comment?

    A1 moto at York is probably your nearest.

    Throttle position is also relevant. For upshifts the throttle, ideally needs to be demanding more revs and you will find reluctance on a closed throttle.

    I use the clutch lever between 1st and 2nd as the differential of the ratios is so great.

    Some machines are affected and have had new units fitted under warranty, those out of warranty have had to purchase a new unit. Most have replaced them with a Translogic unit, the people at Translogic are about the best in the business, and are very helpful if you need advice, these are plug and play with no requirement to configure it to the ECU.

    I would gladly have the cost of a quickshifter deducted from the purchase price and no quickshifter. Useless on a tiger ,minimal use on a sports bike in normal day to day use.imo.

    Have you ever ridden a machine with Shift Assist?

    Whilst I sort of agree with your idea there are a couple of things against it;

    Once you’ve used one, do you need it for the road, no, but it is nice when on it and it all flows :blush:.
    Triumph and others make more money out of add-ons than base models.
    If they did as you suggest, do you really think they would subtract the price it costs you i.e. full retail, or the price it costs them?

    I use mine virtually all the time and wouldn't be without it. The only occasion I don't use it is in heavy traffic, if it ever fails, I will go for the Translogic unit.

    I just think the gearbox is so good it's a joy to use.and after reading about the trouble they have caused to gearboxes, im not convinced they're necessary or worth it,but im a dinosaur having cut my teeth on bsa bantams :)

    If you mean the quickshifter on me gt pro, yes.
    Does nothing to further my enjoyment of riding. It could possibly be because im so slow these days lol.But I don't think I would have found it useful even on the two speed triples I owned previously. I enjoy changing gears "normally "

    My first bike was an ex-WW2 dispatch rider's machine that I rode around a farmer's land in return for some free time helping around the farm. Passed my test in 67 and into the Rocker scene and fond memories of those early days, and I have enjoyed a lifetime as a biker since the early sixties, having owned over 80 machines, however my days of owning multiple machines at once are gone, 2 or 3 is ok, but costs and storage are another matter. I thoroughly embrace all the modern tech on both cars and bikes, and turn off all the rider aids on a 220 BHP road machine and it gets interesting. I still ride occasionally a Triumph Pre Unit 650, now this has no rider aids at all, not even a key, it has a mag, a dyno, 6 volt electrics, and you can ride it without a battery, you have to adapt to this with regards to braking etc, and the tyres that do not offer the same level of grip and feel, it does handle really good considering the basic front and rear suspension it has. I personally don't rely on modern electronics, but do use them as intended and enjoy them. The same is true for modern cars that have a plethora of electronics that we accept as progress, but for some reason, the same doesn't seem true for bike ownership for some.
