We have five, @learningtofly. Steve has a 2021 Road Glide Harley touring bike and the Fat Boy. I have my Street Glide, Low Rider ST, and Speed Triple RS. Four of them fit nicely in one garage space in our two car garage. But that relegates Speedy to the backyard. And that particular bike is there primarily because it's the only one that fits on the concrete slab under the overhang by the kitchen window.

Do you ride the ST less than you expected to when you bought it, Sandi, or is it just that you tend to do so many long rides that it’s just not as practicable?

I have to say that I’ve always had a soft spot for the earlier Low Rider S.

    Rode it!

Went for a short 12 mile ride around a local lake, enjoying the last phase of autumn color. Low 40sF made for cold hands.

I added a neck gaiter and it was good. Torso was warm enough. Legs were cool - I have a pair of new insulated riding pants in mind. Feet were OK.

    Riding it!

All day ride from 11am to 5om, great day.

Started low 40sF, grey and a bit of rain. Ended with glorious sun and blue sky and a little 30 mph constant west wind, near 60F. Westbound travel + 30 mph headwind made for some buffeting!

    Approx 150 miles today.

Picked up a new pair of Sedici Avventura riding pants (trousers!) Excellent wind protection, warm (insulated) and better protection than heavy canvas jeans I was wearing.

I encountered a wide range of conditions:
    - interstate/motorway
    - high winds from all directions
    - wet gravel/near mud
    - cold damp tarmac/asphalt

I used Rain mode early in the day then Road mode after the sun came out and dried things off. Great day on the Tiger Sport 660!

Hi, Tony. I also have a soft spot for Low Riders. My first was the 2017 Low Rider S, the last in the Dyna line of Low Riders and the last year of Dynas, period. Then I had my 2020 Low Rider S which I bought in fairly short order after trading in the Dyna Low Rider plus my 2017 Road Glide for my 2020 Street Glide. Then I took a bit of a detour and bought my lovely 2021 Fat Boy for a mere 5,000 miles or so when I realized I really did have a VERY soft spot for Low Riders and bought my 2023 Low Rider ST "Fast Johnnie" edition. I'll actually get to see my old Fat Boy next weekend because I'm riding with my friend who bought the bike from me!

To answer your question, I don't think I really ride my ST less than I expected because I've had a touring bike the whole time I've owned it so didn't really figure I'd use it for long touring trips. I've only really ridden it one time for a "trip" and that was a 500-miler to Silver City, New Mexico and back shortly after I bought it. It handled that trip beautifully so I figured I'd take that bike for trips that were two or three days. But when we've planned such trips, I always manage to decide on the Street Glide. And as you mentioned, the ST compared to the Street Glide is just not as practicable. I guess those touring bikes are called "touring" bikes for a reason. :joy:

I currently have just a bit under 8,000 miles on my ST and I love to ride it as much as ever. In fact, this past four-day weekend, I rode it three of the four days. Today was Speedy's turn but I rode the ST Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It was the Street Glide's turn to lay low in the garage. ;):) Even though this is the "What You Been Doing with Your Triumph Today?" thread, here's a photo of Fast Johnnie from a few additional "shopping" miles that he and I did after dropping off the Sunday ride gang. ;):) Fortunately the ST has saddlebags just big enough to fit a shoe box with some judicious rearranging. @Mrs Visor would be proud of me. :joy:

Nice photos, @chassis, and sounds like a great day out. From one USA forum member to another, in what state do you live? I'm trying to guess by weather descriptions and photos (especially trees) but I'm stumped (no pun intended). I'm from Arizona where the saguaro cacti are a dead giveaway.

Thanks for such a full response, @Sandi T. I suppose that - for obvious reasons - we just get to see less of the ST. Anyway, glad to hear that it's as much loved as it clearly is.

I've never had to juggle multiple bikes before. but I guess that will change in... well, 8 days. I do slightly fear for the Bonnie!

It's a marvellous problem to have, I consider myself a pro at bike juggling .

Cleaned it up a little, and rode it!

Cleaned both sides of the windscreen

Wiped the painted graphite and black bits, and the inside of the fairing.

Wiped the luggage, exposed engine parts, fork, swing arm and lights.

Adjusted the clutch cable. I had it adjusted too tight and it felt like it was slipping at WOT and high rpm. Slipping feeling is gone.

    Lubricated the luggage lock cylinders.

Went for a one hour ride. 60F, sunny and dry today! :)
