Raining first thing so the Triumphs can stay in the dry.
Another good run out on the Kove today.

I put some new 50/50 Mitas tyres which I liked but today they were totally useless in the mud. I was lucky above to be able to stop in time on a twisty downhill in trees.

Michelin Trackers or similar required, I'll save these for late spring/summer next year.

Onwards, single track turned into fast gravel and so I opened it up , jumping puddles yes:cool:.... thud :worried:

I pulled up here just after a cock pheasant smacked me on the helmet  despite ducking down, face onto the tank.

Time for a cup of tea and a pasty. My finger points to literally the skidmark from the pheasant.

Out on the MV today with friend Carl on his Benelli Trek Amazonas 1130 triple. I've never seen another one, but there must be some more examples out there? Anyone got one or know someone that has one?

The MV is looking good! I had to Google your friend's bike, don't think I have ever seen one or heard of them before.

They look much more like it! The perfect “dual sport” tyre has yet to be made. Maybe one day they’ll come up with a road tyre with retractable knobs. I’ve always preferred and opted for the superior off road grip of proper off road stuff but paid the price a couple of times on wet tarmac.

The only Amazonas I’ve heard of and only ever seen one are those huge Brazilian things with the VW engines. Saw one at the TT one year.

Yes, I've been off in the past using mx knobblies on the road o_O
A Suzuki rmx did a lovely pirouett accelerating from a T junction :worried:
On one memorable close shave, I was on a kdx 200 with my mate Peter also on a kdx 200 close behind. We came over a brow on tarmac into a right hand bend, I thought he's not getting past me down here :imp:...... mega feet up powerslide but luckily kept it pinned resulting in it coming back into line :yum... not sure whether from luck or sheer stupidity but got away with it :joy:

We pulled up further down the road and Peter said "go back and do that again, it looked fantastic?"

    I said, " not a chance!"
And we both burst out laughing :joy:

I did a solo ride this afternoon on Low Rider ST under clear blue skies and lovely temps in the low 80's. I was working on a report for work and Steve said, "You should not be working on a Saturday afternoon!" So I stopped. Before you know it I was out the door and down the road.:sun: I rode over to our local Harley-Dealership and looked at and touched everything then got back down to business and back on the road. :)

In my 50 miles today I rode through three towns--Tucson, Marana, and Oro Valley. Marana and Oro Valley are basically suburbs of Tucson. Marana is to the far west of Tucson and Oro Valley is more to the northwest. I recalled taking a photo of my Speed Triple in front of this mural so thought I'd stop and do the same with my Low Rider ST.
