I'm not up on BMW models - RnineT or R12nineT?

My cousin got an R12nineT this year - and is absolutely loving it!!

Only problem he had was a flat battery because the BMW charger didn't work with the standard BMW socket and they had to fit a second connector solely for the battery conditioner..... mechanic apparently said, no, it never works with that socket!

It's the original 9T (based on the Classic), not the 12. The absolutely superb upgrades include

    Akrapovič R9T Series Slip-on Exhaust
    Unit Garage De-Cat Headers
Rapid Bike EVO Fuelling Control Module
Pier City Custom Air Box Removal Kit
    Öhlins STX46 Blackline Shock Absorber
    Gilles Tooling Adjustable Rear Sets
    Unit Garage Handlebar Risers
Pier City Custom Rear Undertray and Tail Tidy
    Kellermann Atto 3-in-1 LED Indicators
    Mototech Cylinder Head Protectors
    Evotech Oil Cooler

    It really is a beauty.

It would be a nice bike if it wasn't for that ugly boxer engine go and try the new speed triple better performance and probably cheaper in the long run anyway :eyes:

Well, as luck would have it, I received an email from On Yer Bike literally as I was drafting an email to send to them to ask them if I could put a holding deposit down. Unfortunately, the bike had just sold.

Not sure what I’m going to do now, but I’m edging towards the 100 Years anniversary version instead.

    Have to admit, I’m gutted!

Sorry to hear that, but maybe it's fate sending something better your way :).

Wow, that's really a bummer and I'm sure you're very disappointed, Tony. Hope things work out better if you decided on the 100 Years anniversary version.

Frustrating when you think you've found the one.

But what about the Tangerine Dream R12 Nine T:cool:!?

The 100Yrs anniversary does look glorious, but the R12 Nine T: I suspect you have a soft spot for black bikes:). And I'm simply trying to enjoy an R12 Nine T vicariously :)ppun intended) through you. Three name drops is probably enough now.

Whichever you choose, I'm glad you're now able to contemplate a 2nd bike after your recent troubles: Whatever you choose enjoy:)!

Thanks Paul. You mention my troubles, and I think part of the reason I want a second bike is that I really want to live what’s left of my life having come so close to losing it. I’m also going to retire next summer and want to make sure I enjoy my days to the full (and having a choice of bikes will be much more fun :)).

Anyway, I am indeed looking at the R12 NineT, but of the three options I’m considering the 100 Years seems to be drawing me in the most (albeit that both the R12 alternatives are technically better bikes). It’s a real conundrum though, to be honest.

We all need to make the most of our lives, we all can all too easily just get carried along by life.

(SWMBO and I are also working hard on enabling retirement next year: Its proving quite elusive, but its more than time for a change for me and those close to me.)

Anyway, if you've got some spare resource and it'll enhance your life (and also those close to you), well you can't take it with you.

Surely a bank balance check and test rides (let us know what they're like) are the next steps. Enjoy:cool:
