    Hi

I got back into biking last year at 59 (rode as a teen but never passed my test). Had a Z650 for almost a year and couldn't resist this Speed Triple. Pick it up this Thursday (just in time to put it away for the winter :(), can't wait!!

@Jon Steele Welcome to the family. Nice black beauty there. The black bike tend to be one of the favourites here. Thanks for sharing the picture. And we are going to have an Indian summer so get out there and enjoy it

I'm crossing everything for an Indian Summer - I rode through most of the winter last year and can't say i enjoyed it that much!

    Hi,
Never too late to get back on a bike...uh, unless you're dead! But happily, you are not AND you have a new beauty! Congrats!

    Oh this is really nice!

I recently got my first Triumph too (Street Triple RS) after riding Ducati.
I join you in the seasonal changeover.
Hope you get some good days to get some rides in.

Welcome from New Jersey! I'm not sure where "Elland" is, so don't know how grim the weather will be shortly.
As noted, I will ride as long as the temps are above 7 C (~45F), and roads don't have salt/gravel on them. I do dress for the weather, of course, and keep my rides relatively short- less than 100 miles- as the cooler temps do seep in despite my warmer clothes.

Love the bike! My first one, when I was 56, was a 2004 Speed Triple. Fun ride, but not great for my lovely wife and passenger. The Sprint GT and Trophy are much more comfortable!

    Good luck!

    Welcome to the forum.
Got my first bike Honda 150 Dream in 1966.
Since then over my lifetime, I have owned 9 cycles from Hondas, to 1971 Triumph Tiger, to 2002 Harley Road King, and now finally my Triumph T120.
Two pieces of advice to stay in good health riding:
    1. Upon possession of my Honda 150 in 1966, my first, a fellow rider suggested I drive it like I would a car - no aggressive riding and speed. I was riding in Detroit at a time when drivers were more civil.
    2. Finally in 2003, after picking up the Harley, I took a Motorcycle Safety course (offered here in the states for $50); what I learned there saved me a few times and continues to do so.
