Not something I've had to do (winter storage indoors and not much chrome), but I'd think a good clean and polish then a coat of ACF50?

+1 on the ACF50. If it’s to be left outside all Winter I’d also give the engine a small dose of misting oil and block off the ends of the exhausts.

Agree with the above too. I left my bikes outside in the winter for years before I built my garage, and never had an issue going tne ACF50 route.

Here is a review and video of various rust inhibitors from Bennetts Bike Social. I find their tests are usually a bit over the top (!), but the information is there if you want to see if there is anything better than ACF50.

The only comment I would make is that I'd look for something that is easily "washed off" in the Spring, whereas some of these coatings look a bit more permanent.

Best rust inhibitor 2025. PLUS Ceramic coatings TESTED

ACF50 all the way. Bought my first spray ti in 2002 and just replaced it with a litre bottle a month ago. Can't go wrong with it...;)
