Can anyone help me with instruction to take the tank off my 2025 Bonne T120. Even if you don’t have a Bonne T120 but you may have access to the official workshop manual.
I have searched YouTube, found Songs from the saddle - he showed the tank off on his Scrambler does not look the same atall as my Bonne.
I want to fit the the OEM Triumph cockpit power socket thing (arrives tomorrow) that plugs into a socket in the main loom under the tank.
    Totally stuck
    Thanks in advance.
    RB.

    Hi @Mrs Visor
Though it does go through some simple adjustments it does not cover things like valve adjustment that would need the tank off.
Nevertheless thanks for your help. Downloaded it.
    Cheers.

You can access the official Triumph Service Manual. It's online subscription only and costs £5.99 for a months subscription. But be aware that it will auto renew after a month if you don't cancel.

When fitting the auxiliary power socket to my Speed Twin 900 I only had to raise the rear of the tank and propped with a piece of timber. The harness is located on the Right Hand side of the bike (when sitting on it) and can be found behind the solenoid valve. A 5mm Allen Key is required to remove the Throttle Body cover and the same Allen Key to attache the Power Socket Bracket.
    Hope this helps.

The most difficult part of removing the tank is disconnecting the fuel line, especially if you don"t have the release tool.
The tank fixings are obvious, it slides forward onto two rubber bushes either side of the headstock and a bolt fastens it at the rear.
There are two electrical plugs situated around the middle section RHS for the pump and guage sender, plus a vent pipe on the LHS underneath. This is how the tanks on my Street Scramblers and my current 2024 1200 Scrambler locate. I don't believe the other bonnevilles are any different, except possible the Thruxton.

As Alfie has said above, if you can access the connector you require without removing the tank completely you will save yourself a lot of faff.

    Hi @Pegscraper,

Released the tank bolt at the back. Pulled the tank back a bit, lifted it up and rested in a block.
There does not appear to be a fuel quick release connector on the rubber fuel pipe.
The breather pipe seems to be clipped to the under side of the tank, through what appears to be rings.
The only YouTube video I found was the tank removal on a Scrambler. (Then I was never good at searching). That video showed that the Scrambler had a connector on the fuel line. My Bonne seems different. Maybe things changed in 2025.

I do need the tank of as I am fitting some extra lights.

On my old BM GS, all one had to do was remove some of the bodywork, got all the access space needed, but then it WAS a Lardy B. (It went yesterday after nearly 12yrs of ownership. Still twinged with a little sadness).

The fuel pipe stays connected to the tank. The connector is on the other end of the pipe and connects to the fuel rail. The breather pipes unclip from the underside of the tank by bending open the clips.

    @TRIPLE X ,

I think that I am almost beginning to understand.
(Oh Mr Haynes please hurry up.)

    Please forgive silly questions.
1, The breather pipe goes into a clip that from the underside looks like a full circle.
    2. Is there a quick connector coupling on the fuel rail.
    3. How does one access the fuel rail if there is a connector on it.

I am assuming things are similar to my 2025 Speed Twin 900. My pipe clips are thin flat metal straps bent into a circle that can be opened up to release the pipes (I have 2 pipes alongside each other). When the rear of the tank is raised you should be able to see the fuel line connector which can be released by sliding the safety clip sideways and pressing the 2 rubber buttons and pulling and twisting back and forth the connector off it's spigot. For £5.99 I would recommend a months subscription to access the service manual.

This is a good picture of the fuel line/fuel rail connector that will/should be on your Bonneville. It pushes down and locks onto the spigot to the left of it. The square button(s) in the centre of the connector is the locking mechanism release and the plastic forked section then slides over the buttons. The buttons have to be squeezed in together to release the latching mechanism but it will be a tight fit and can take some releasing (pulling upwards).

I bought a tool similar to this to release the connector….

Wasn't aware of that fuel connector release tool at the time or I would have bought one. So made my own which works well. 20250920_165127.jpg

It’s a relatively simple tool but the job is made much more difficult without one. I did a bit of homework prior to doing a tank-off job so ordered one in advance. Your DIY device is just as good.

Loved your fuel quick release device!
Found the quick release connector and had no problem undoing with finger and thumb.
Thanks to you got the breather pipe off. Cheers Triple X,
Just have to find my small screw drivers to undo the electrical connectors.

Still no hurry, Yodel lovely people NOT could not find our farm, even though it has had the same name for more than 41yrs!

When you reconnect the fuel hose make sure it clicks and is fully home with the safety clip closed. It has been known for the connector to not be properly engaged and comes apart under fuel pressure when riding. Not ideal!

    Some success
    Fuel line off
    Breather off
Two wire electrical plug off, single tab one
Struggling with three wire one (with two tabs) no joy.
    Any pointers please.

From memory mine both had a single release tab? Access isn't great for mine and would have been more accessible if the cable was longer. And both connectors are parked on locating tabs once reconnected.
