Kick start and electric. I bought it back during covid. It had supposedly been completely rebuilt. Quickly realised the guy hadn't a fkn clue what he was doing.ps the pic is from 45years ago. View attachment 179135 so off it went for a 3year rebuild..decided to do everything. Don't ask the cost but I will never get back half of what I've shelled out, but I love it.its seen a slightly damp sponge :)

My first “learner” bike was a DT250MX trail bike with drum brakes and 70’s spec dual sport tyres so braking and road grip weren’t exactly benchmark but then, on bikes designed for off road riding, brake feel is more important than 2 finger, wheel locking capability. Despite that I don’t recall thinking the brakes were a weak point of the bike.
The brakes on my current Husaberg FE570 dirt bike are perfect off road and adequate on road, not helped by the huge suspension travel but the super motard version of the bike, the FS570 with same engine spec has different forks, sticky road tyres, a 320mm front disc and 4 pot calliper with stopping power to rival any superbike, courtesy of a dry weight of 117kg.
My 2nd, post test machine was a Z1300 no less and I never had any issues with the brakes (twin discs, 2 pot callipers) on that either but I was more of a cruiser/poseur back then and the big Z was hardly a scratchers tool anyway!:joy:
