Hello to all Gentleman's out there.
I am in the process to reassemble my T20 engine and come across two springs and two 5/32" (4mm) steel balls. There where in the OIL PUMP Bag. I checked and the two springs and steel balls inside the oil pump are installed. Now I am lost. Searching thru the parts pages don't show any more two steel balls with this little springs.

    Where can there be missing?
By the way, I have reassemble the right side now 4 times, each time finding that something need to be installed and I missed this. Like, Tappet for the Valves, end stop for the Kick starter,

    Any Help is appreciated.
I will leave this cover open for now till I know where there coming from.

OK, i went and closed the engine with out the found steel balls and springs. I just assume that someone before me, installed them under the oil pump inside the right housing, not knowing that there have the same ball and springs inside the pump.

    Thanks Udo P.

    Hi,
It's always a pain if you come to assemble something and when you finish there are bits left over.
    I'm talking from memory.
I'm not sure and I can't remember where the balls and springs go exactly is there space under the screw ends of the pump for this? If not then they almost certainly go in the current case body.
The reason for me saying this is that this picture shows what looks like Ball bearing valve seat?
Anybody who's recently worked on one of these would probably have a better knowledge than I do not that on my memory is failing it's just said it's been a long time, since I saw the inside of 1.

    Hi,
Don't attempt to run it until you sorted this problem out of course.
Did you disassemble the oil pump?
Like I said above if there is no room in the oil pump itself for two balls and two springs then these almost certainly will go into the crank case half!
Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Damit, I got this information to late. The engineis full assembled now and I did NOT CLEAND THE SLUDGE TRAP.
And I read the article, on early engine there where extra springs and balls installed, for the return oil flow, when parked reason.

Lets hope that it will work.

    Hi,
I didn't read necessarily every bit of the articles I've posted above.
But whatever you've done, you're gonna have to strip it down or strip the side panel off again right hand engine case.
And correct whatever it needs to be done you don't wanna put it together Incorrectly.
I know the head gasket was originally copper.
And the base gasket will just be a paper affair?
But it's only a single cylinder with a push road so it's not a lot of work involved in taking it apart again to clean out the sludge trap.
    Good luck with your efforts.

I will concider to take it apart again. Dealing with a serious illness is my time problem. Don't want my wife have to deal with a bike in parts laying around.
