Oh OK...from the showroom, to a lucky snap on the road

The regular 1200 RS feels much more upright than the 1050 RS – and this RX is certainly more aggressive, but it reminds me of the 1050 RS riding position.

It's actually surprisingly comfortable, but you do have to remember to keep the weight of your wrists from time to time. The seat is raised at the back and pushes you forward. Compared to the 1200 RS, Triumph say "bars are 69mm lower and 52mm further forward; pegs raised by 14.5mm and set back by 25.5mm".

I've found it to be a totally engaging ride - it appears to go exactly where you point it (very helpful) and the active suspension just does its thing in comfort/normal mode – sport is too hard for most of the country roads where I live...but you can mix and match how the modes are set up.

It's possible to change settings (even compression and rebound) while riding but other than turning down the engine breaking a fraction, I've not experimented that much (yet). It's honestly wasted on me, but all the tech means it does normal riding really, really well.

Didn't like any of the 1200 Speedys from the pictures but looking round both variants in Youles on Friday I have changed my mind:grinning: I love that RX yellow! My 1050 RS is way too much as it is but I could be tempted.
All that technology though, I reckon it would be easy to make it completely unrideable if you don't know what you're doing!

Me and tech don’t get on…. I’ve only switched through the engine map menu twice on the 1050 RS.
Found the one I like ( Road I think it is …) and left it there….!

The tech on the new one would be largely irrelevant to me as well..!

I’m sure you’ve got some tax free retirement funds to spend @dawsy…

If I only spend a tenner on a big weekend I can't see me spending 18 grand on a bike ;):joy::scream:

funny, originally I wanted to make the joking comment "what, you bought 1200RX? ;-) " but you actually did!
    Nice choice!
While I had the tires on my trusted 1050RS changed to S23 a month ago, I rode back-to-back M1000 and 1390R. M1000 is forgettable (for me), I only really like the instrumentation, engine sound and dynamics are not my cup of tea. 1390R is as I remember it from before (I rode 1290R and 1390R as test bikes a few times before) - fun even at sane speeds, rambunctious and lively, but also a bit too silent even with aftermarket pipe (taking silencer out is not allowed) compared to my 1050RS. In fact, when the mechanic drove forward my 1050RS after tire change the first thing he mentioned was its great sound (he himself owns 1390).
In the shop there was the 1200RX displayed in the window (same spot where my white 2020 1050RS was displayed, which I saw and bought on the spot back then). It is a beautiful piece of kit, no question!
I rode 1200 RS a couple of times in the last few years, last time was last year, about 250km, including highways. It certainly is more sporty than 1050RS, narrower, more powerful....but on the 50-60kmh roads it felt too much for my tastes, too much restrained power, too much heat, somewhat jerky. 1050RS is much more relaxed old-schoolish bike, it also has a narrower bar than the modern bikes, was quite noticeable when I went from M1000/1390 straight onto it.
I keep to my good ole 1050, but if I were to change a bike it would be between 1290/1390 (I like the old light and orange wheels) and 1200RX and having seen 1200RX I am not sure the KTM would be the first choice (before RX - it was).

    Enjoy!
