Trident 660 Front Buzzing

    Ive read Triumphs have some normal noises but thought Id ask if anyone nows exactly what this could be, its coming from the front of my Trident 660 (2026), Its brand new, the buzz cannot be heard when the bike is stopped, even if I rev the bike no buzz, but usually anything above 1st you can hear a slight buzz and it gets louder the fast I go, never too loud but its definitely a buzz, its been doing this from day1. Is this normal?

    Edit: having trouble Going from 2nd to 1st when leaving a stop sign or when starting to move, sometimes It has alot of trouble going from N to first when leaving a stopped position, really irritating, feels really moody, sometimes this happens sometimes it doesnt, but it is a problem, kind if has me worried like I said I just got this bike brand new and not sure if this is the pre installed slipper clutch or sonething worse. Thanks for any help

    When you say "... its brand new .." if you mean the bike then the 'buzzing' could easlily be the front brake pads bedding in, especially as the noise seems speed related. Try gently applying the front brake - at low speed - to see if the noise and/or note changes, or try coasting on a closed throttle in neutral to see if you can get a better idea of where the noise is coming from.

    If, on the other hand, you mean the noise - and not the bike - is brand new, then you have a whole 'nother kettle of worms or can of fish. Still worth coasting in neutral at, say 20mph to see if you can get a better idea of source, though.

    Good luck, hope you find and resolve it because, once you've heard it, you'll not be able to 'unhear' it in the future.

    @Jack Montana New bike take it back to your dealer and ask their opinion. Just had my 660 again new out today but didn't notice any noises. But only did about eighty miles. Welcome to the family by the way. Do tap the upload a file button and show us your bike.

    Assuming you've not sorted this: I cannot offer anything specific about the gear change issue. However as far as the 'buzzing' is concerned I'd take a look at the ABS sensors on the F&R wheels - they shouldn't touch the trigger disc that's mounted on the brake disc. There's a 'shim washer' that determines the gap between the sensor and the rotating trigger wheel (the black inner ring with slots in it). If this falls out whilst say taking out the front wheel and you re-assemble with out it there's a buzzing as the sensor is 'ground' down by the trigger ring. (Yeah, been there , done it; streety 765 - interestingly the ABS still worked. I too heard buzzing, found the washer on the floor. No permanent damage done.)

    In terms of the gear changes at low speed, I assume your bike being a new model has a quick shifter as standard. If you are using the quick shifter at low speeds that may be your issue. I always use my clutch from 1-2 or 2-1 and at any time I am slowly progressing through gears. They're designed to be used for changes up under load (high RPMs) and changes down with the throttle shut rather than slow riding. I am sure you already know that, so forgive me if that was patronising, but was just a thought.
