Didn't get too far today, just went for a short ride to Shobdon with Helmut on his Tuono as we had a very exciting tip run to do this afternoon, however I only made it one way as I acquired a vicious puncture which the air just hissed out of when it was reinflated. Our very good friends who own a riding school came out with their van to retrieve me and even took the rear wheel off for me at their unit, ready for me to get a new tyre fitted. Luckily I was about to order a new one anyway as this tyre had almost 10000 miles on it so was about done, so it didn't sting toooooo much!!

Not far from home and when my friends had a gap between lessons to come and rescue me, so I count myself fortunate. I could also have taken the Ducati with a pretty new tyre on it, so again this was the "best" tyre to get a puncture in. The blade already has new tyres on order as they've got about 9500 miles on too....so new tyres all round in my collection apart from the front on the Striple which has some life left as I get about 1.5 rears to every front on that.

Expensive month then ouch I just had to have a new tyre on the car unknown to me there was a split on the inner wall pointed out during a service don't crawl around under cars anymore what really annoyed me was it was the best tyre on the car so went with a budget one so it can be changed in the future with the one on the same axle as I prefer matching pairs on each axle I say budget but at £88 it's not exactly that but best price out there I put the size on Google and Asda came up with the best price yes I said Asda you buy through them then they give you the option of the most convenient to you fitters to use

Well @Sandi T I haven’t had much chance to ride the Big Beemer yet. Just a couple of shortish day rides around the Yorkshire Dales. Around 180 miles the first day and around 120 miles the second day.
I’m not going to be riding for a few weeks now as we (my wife and I) are going on a train tour around France, visiting Paris, Nice, Grasse, Monaco, Lyon and Chamonix to visit son and his family before going back to Paris and then making our way back North to Yorkshire. Hopefully the weather will still be good enough to get some riding in when we get home. I’ve a trip to Germany in the early stages of planning for next year so far.

Glad you've been able to rack up at least a few miles, @Glenn2926. Have a fantastic train trip! Please post a few photos for us here on the forum if you would. Is the trip to Germany one you'll do on your motorcycle?

Yeah the Germany trip is with the group I have an annual trip with. It can number anywhere between 6-10 riders. I tend to organise the routes, another lad sorts the accommodation and yet another any ferries. It works for us and we’ve been doing an annual trip since the year 2000.

I finally got out on my Speed Triple for the first time in about three weeks. The new job is wreaking havoc with my priorities! :p:joy:

Anyway, it's always glorious to ride Speedy and today was no exception. Our little Sunday ride group only rode about 20 miles to breakfast then nearly everyone turned around and went home. I had one taker who agreed ride farther. 114 miles on the clock when I pulled into our driveway.

I've convinced Steve to ride with me again tomorrow as I'm off on Mondays (yay!) . The last photo of Speedy shows him in his outdoor home (boo, hiss!). He's "naked" since I decided to leave him that way until after tomorrow's ride. Then I'll rewrap him in his Nelson-Rigg cover topped off with a silver reflective top layer. It's a process....... As you can see from my TFT, at 99ºF it's still toasty here in the Arizona desert but predictions are for it to cool down some towards next weekend. THAT would be nice. :p

Today I fitted new air filter to 2019 T120. Was going to let local main dealer fit it in upcoming annual service. Then I asked the price , £120 just to fit it ,another £27ish for the filter. Couldn't believe it. So today I stopped myself getting ripped off and saved £120 and fitted it myself. Result.

Well, as I mentioned in my post here from yesterday, I left my Speed Triple on the back landing ready to rock 'n' roll for a ride today. That was not to be. We unexpectedly spent four hours at the vet with our boxer, Ellie, who it turns out has a UTI. Of course we had to find a vet clinic that was open on a national holiday. That changed the complexion of the whole day and another ride on Speedy was not in the cards. So here he is all wrapped up again waiting patiently for me to get him back on the road… soon hopefully! This is the reflective silver cover that I mentioned.

Hi Sandi, good luck with Ellie. I have three sight hounds, two of which 15+ years, we do worry about our pets.

They look decent quality is it just designed for heat or is it waterproof and I'd get a ground anchor a scrote with a decent saw would soon be through the wooden pillar

I am not sure there are nearly so many scrotes where @Sandi T lives; we are "blessed" with them in abundance in the UK.....

Thanks, @Glenn2926. I appreciate your comments and you are correct that the dog takes priority over(even!) the bikes. :) Cool that you had boxers. Ellie is my 6th. Yes, we do love our pets so. I will definitely give Ellie a pat from you.:kissing_heart:

The silver cover is not waterproof at all, Mark. Just designed to reflect the intense heat of our desert summers and on into the fall. The black cover underneath that one is waterproof, however. Not too many scrolls in our neighborhood. Plus we live in a gated small community where everybody seems to know everybody's business and notices pretty much everything that happens all the time. And the bike is in our locked walled back yard right under our kitchen window so even though we're both a a bit hard(er) of hearing these days , we would hear a saw in a New York minute. Plus we have Ellie, the Wonder Watch Dog, hard at work guarding our place. Thanks for the suggestion, though! I actually did think of placing a ground anchor so thought through what you thought of when you saw the photo.

Well, there are definitely some very scrotie areas in Tucson, @Mrs Visor! :p But we are blessed to not be right in the middle of those areas. At least not our little housing development.

I collected my Striple from my friends' business unit today; not only did they rescue me when I had my puncture, but also went and collected my wheel with new tyre fitted for me from the bike shop I always use without my knowledge and then put the wheel back onto my bike for me. As if that wasn't enough, they collected me when I had finished work and gave me a lift so that I could just ride my bike back as Helmut is away at the moment.

I love that new tyre feeling!
