After 52 years of riding I decided to get a Modern Classic 2023 Bonneville T100.
I love the bike when it is not broke down. In less than 10,000 miles the transmission has failed THREE times. Two dealers diagnosed and "repaired" it under warranty. It is in the shop now after less than 2,000 miles on the last "repair". I could go into details on the nature of the failure and the parts replaced by the dealers if anyone is interested. What I could use is anyone else's experience with this lemon. How could Triumph build such a fabulous bike and put such a POS transmission in it? FYI: this is my 11th motorcycle and over 360,000 miles ridden. I taught my first MSF course in 1977 and the last one a few years ago. I have never had problems like this. I KNOW HOW TO SHIFT A MOTORCYCLE.
Thank you for letting me vent.

I think you've just answered my question posted after 7 minutes of joining the forum.

May have to rethink the Triumph route back into riding. Pity - really liked the sound of the T100 ! Unless any updates since your post last year ?

Like you from memory passed my test around 75-76 and numerous bikes up to my mid 30's

I wouldn't base your decision on one bad experience, like any vehicle model there is bound to be the odd lemon produced, I would ask in the T100 group what their experiences are because I'm sure there are a lot of satisfied owners who can help you out.
This was also posted over a year ago and in the American market, not that it should make a difference but still.

    Hi there thanks for answer
I will try that Helmut however out with this forum there seems to be an issue apparently acknowledged by Triumph UK - but they are not willing to advise how many and what models are affected ?

Like said earlier i have had five Bonnie's over time and never a flaw on either. In fact i just parted with my last two Bonnies sold to Bulldog Triumph. A Bonnie Sixty Alought it only had three thousand an a half miles it was faultless. And a street scrambler Bonnie that just flowed and was so smooth.

Never heard of that on this forum or The Triumph Motorcycle Forum. As @Helmut Visor has said don't base your fears on one post from America a year ago, and as @joe mc donald and I have said here and on your other post they really are a good reliable bike.
