Just Encountered This Beauty...

There's another Triumph rider in the neighborhood it seems - that's what I thought when I saw the bike in the picture parked just by the road. I was wondering which model it is. Had to take a closer look. Maybe an older model, customized, I thought... So, have a guess yourself


Turns out it's not a Triumph at all, but a China bike customized to look like a Triumph. Not too surprising in the Philippines, where a new Speed Twin 900 costs you roughly a two years average wage, given you don't spend on anything else - like on food or drink or accommodation - for those two years.
Still, I honestly think it's a really beautiful bike, although the only original Triumph part is the lettering on the tank, and even here I'm not sure.
But it shows how Triumph as a brand is well regarded here in the Philippines. It's actually the third Triumph replica I encountered, the first two were also a China bikes which had the scrambler optics. The only other replica I encountered was a fake Ducati Scrambler. And I see people having a curious look at my bike if it's really a Triumph or just another replica. You don't see too many Triumphs here with 99.9% of the bikes being China bikes or Kawasaki Barako/Honda TMX 175cc and the likes. And scooters, of course.
Still, again, I think it's quite beautiful!
