Old. Me, I guess. Plus I owned a 650 Bonneville somewhere around when Pontius was a pilot. New, because I now own a Triumph again. Used, because it's a 2024 Speed Triple RR which I bought with 1500 miles on the block. I bought the bike without seeing it physically or test riding it, just on the pictures and the deal. First time in my life I've done that. First ride was home from the dealer (Balmer Lawn Motorrad in Brockenhurst) It was a great move. The bike is utterly brilliant - fast and handles brilliantly. My last bikes have been S1000RRs, with a string of GSX-R 750s before that, so I'm used to sports bikes. The Triumph easily covers ground as fast as the 2023 S1000RR I traded in, and it does it with shedloads more character and grins. It also came with about £2500 of extras and all the original parts in bubble wrap. The previous owner maintained it impeccably, so happy days. About me. 62 year old former helicopter pilot, now consultant (mainly with the military still), living in Croydon. Also have an old Land Rover 110 V8 and a slightly less old BMW M5. Cheers, Simon
@Junglie25 Welcome to the family. You are a youngster yet. Do have fun with the new bike. When you stop playing. Do tap the upload a file button bottom right corner and let us all see it.
That's fighting talk! Though as a bootneck I find myself mildly conflicted - never pinged anything in my life. At least not with sonar...
But a navy pilot would almost certainly have a lot of fun watching an army pilot try to land his aircraft on an object moving randomly on three axes ..............
It's true. Almost as much fun as listening on the radio as the pongo finally gives up trying to find the ship and asks for a steer... Because no p*ss taking happens afterwards at all
@Junglie25 Its nice to have a lighter side to the forum and a bit of fun. You are all fine people who defend our nation. God bless you all.
