G'day mates, the name is Richard I am an Aussie, I bought a 2006 Daytona 955i brand new back in 2006 and I have enjoyed every minute riding this bike (Black Betty Bam ba Lam). Long distance road trips, a quick blat on a Saturday even took it the All bike Drags at Benaraby, pulled a respectable 10.5 and went home happy. Sadly in 2020 it fell out of a trailer when a ratchet tie down snaped, I was gutted. It fell on its head smashing all the instrumentation, nose cone, headlights and serious wounds to the fairings. Slowly I have been rebuilding it sourcing parts from all over the world. I had it ready to start but no response. Of to the local dealer, shocked to find out it is fuel pump at a replacement cost of $1500 AUD. Is this for real or am I getting stitched up. I understand the dealer is obligated to use OEM parts but I see aftermarket for $ 200 or less. Any advice appreciated
@Richard Glare I think your dealer is trying it on. If the aftermarket does the job. Then that is the way to go. Welcome to the family by the way and its a nice bike. Black is a favoured colour here.
