    Today I had an intensive maintenance day. At 0730 I had a date for the 30.000 km maintenance of my BMW at my dealer in my hometown. The planned time for the complete maintenance was 3 hours. Therefore I lend a test bike for this waiting time. I received a "fun" bike, a BMW F900 GS. This bike is comparable with a TIGER 900. Both bikes have nearly the same technical and power situation. BUT: I would never buy this kind of bike. The quality and behaviour of the TIGER is from "another" world directly compared. The BMW has a 2-cylinder engine and the sound is hmmmm.:rolleyes:For me it sounded like chattering of a big group of ducks.:D
    After three hours and about 200 km I came back with the test bike and received a few minutes later my maintained bike.
    List of the done maintenance:
    - Change of engine oil
    - Change of the oil of the front fork
    - Change of the break fluid in the front and in the back
    - Change of a small plastic cover at one of my breaks
    Due to my pre payed maintenance plan I had no costs and left directly to the north of my province to a friend of mine to change the tyres of my BMW.
    Another 200 kilometers later I arrived there and he immediately started the changing of the tyres. I did 12.000 kilometres with the old ones. They would have been usable for another 1.000-2.000 kilometres but since I will do about 4.000 kilometres in the next weeks I changed them in advance.
    I kept my preferred and beloved tyre brand, Bridgestone Road Attack 4. I payed in sum €415.- for the change.
    Afterwards I headed back home and had the "possiblity" to test them in good and also in very wet weather. The last 15 kilometres of my way back home I had to "dive" again.
    In sum I did nearly 600 kilometres on two bikes today.
    In the following some impressions.

    The "chattering" BMW F900 GS in an unbelievable colour scheme!:dizzy:

    @Pegscraper:
    Yes, you are right. Due to the longer journey I will take instead of my Rocket for the next international event my now prepared BMW with the additional panniers. So this time my beloved wife :heart: will be able to ride without additional weight.;) This time I will be the "Yack". :p

    Prepaid service ? nice !

    I did the large 20,000kms service for my R1300 in Mexico and it cost about $350 dollars

    I then did the 30,000kms in San Francisco , the service was about $300 dollars and it is basically an oil change, but I needed a rear tyre, $300 for the tyre + $100 for mounting, and also front brake pads, another chunk of cash in total I paid $1200 dollars

    Quite a difference in prices between the BMW dealers in Mexico and in the USA

    I like the colour scheme it makes the bike look more modern and up to date with comparable bikes I've always thought BMW bikes as good as they may be but you do pay for that have an old fashioned look about them like the cars up until They started to add more models to the range the shape very rarely changed like the e38 3 series which I had a 2000 model have stayed much the same

    @Armando Morales:
    I pre payed €1.560.- for 50.000 km or five years full maintenance including all fluids. This means for me. I save the money for at least two maintenances.;)
