I didn't realise BMW were replacing their small 310cc bikes with a new 450cc twin later this year (sales probably starting 2026?). This could be them coming after a share of the Triumph 400's success.

As with the 310's (and the Triumph's) it'll be built in India (for better or worse!) but it will be a twin cylinder, 47bhp bike with a remarkably light 175kg weight. According to an interview I read the first bikes will be the GS Adventure bikes with other models to follow. BMW don't seem to be interested in the retro market.... but they could change their minds given the number of Speed 400's being sold!

BMW's F450GS adventure bike confirmed as arriving in 2025

@ajc400 I thought you would be our judge. And i do believe the Triumph 400's were mostly Indian.

Come on, don't mention my 400, I'm over it now, but it has left me with a distrust of anything built in India!!

Unfortunately that's the way of the world the majority of our British marques have been given a new lease on life under license in India at least our Beloved Triumph still has its influence in Hinckley

BMW like the car seriously over priced and what most manufacturers include as their standard fitment BMW like to add as an optional extra

I had a BMW G310GS for 3 years prior to my Speed Twin 1200. It was a great bike, after 10,000 miles it was still like new and totally reliable. I would have kept it if it had another 10hp, as I spent a lot of time on full throttle at 80mph. I think a new 450 engine with a few more hp could be a winner.

I loved my gs800 trophy,,it would have been a keeper if it hadn't been so tall, even with the low seat fitted. Everything about it felt quality. Suspension was much better than my 900 gt pro, and I've tried every setting. IMG_6466.jpg

Let's hope this 450 BMW is better than the last one then which didn't find any praise from a certain Mr Knight IIRC.
