Day 1/2: Today we did our first tour on our "running in weekend". In sum we did 437 km through 4 provinces in very changing weather conditions. We only had some minutes of rain today. Overall the weather was to cold for mid of July. The temperatures were between 12 and 24 degrees celsius. My wife is very satisfied with her new "Speedy". For the first 150 kilometres the bike was automatically reduced to 4.000 rpm. When she reached this level a yellow warning light showed up in the display. After 150 km the light didn't show up again and my wife adhered the instructions of the manual to reach only 2/3 of the maximum for the first 1.000 km. The fuel consumption is also impressive! About 4 to 4,5 l/100 km was todays consumption. We rode a mixture of A-, B-, X- roads and also some time on a highway. The velocity of the bike in the actual running in phase is impressive. The new tyres on my Rocket are also great. They are more comfortable than my former Avon's. The behaviour in dry and wet conditions is also great. I am looking forward to the future mileage of them. In the following some impressions. A view from the "Klippitztörl" down to the province of "Carinthia". Sea Level: 1.644 m.
Day 2: Today we did another tour, but only in our own province but in sum we rode 387 km. On our way we did some fine tuning of the wind screen of my wife's bike for several times. After some trials she was happy. This time we went via some pre--Alps sections to the river Danube and then "climbed" up to the northern part of Austria, to a wonderful area which is called "Waldviertel". During our ride we did some stops for drinks and some refreshments. The temperatures were between 13 and 28 degrees today. The fuel consumption of "Speedy" went down to 3,7-4,0 l/100 km. This is nearly unbelievable! My wife is very happy now with her new bike. Tomorrow she will show up at our dealer to get the 1.000 km maintenance done. In the following some impressions of our small tour. The hydroelectric power station "Ybbs Persenbeug"
