Peeps on my Bonneville sixty. I have just under the tank right side behind the cylinder head. A socket that looks like a cigarette lighter socket that you find in the car. Anyone tell me what it is for and what i need to find to fit in there. Sure i could find something on here about it but easier to just ask. I will take a picture later and show it to you all.
@Regit nogara Yes it is accessible. Just wondered what it was. And if a power socket can i get a lead for phone charging.
Can't you get one of those plug in usb type things from Amazon or similar? Then a cable with usb A and whatever your lphone needs. Can't be that hard, shirley?
Hi Joe, If that is the original Triumph accessory socket then it is not a car type cigarette socket. It's a Hella Din plug. This can be used to plug in a battery conditioner or use it to charge your phone/sat nav when on the move. It is usually a permanently live socket and the plug type you need is like this:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/39663057...lamfd04kgf0NcHP1Gicf+zwxkz|tkp:Bk9SR6bvzcL1ZQ Or this one specifically for an Optimate:- https://www.optimate.co.uk/cart.php?suggest=8deffe89-553f-4e11-a0eb-0147b770691d Hope this helps
Sportsbikeshop have a big range of cables and adapters. I got one there to adapt my old charger to the new din type socket on the Triumph 400 for just a few pounds.
I don't have an iPhone, but would this usb-c to power socket cable do it in one go? Don't take my word for it though!!
Sorry AJC400 that plug is for a car type cigarette lighter socket and will not fit the triumph accessory socket.
That’s a 12V accessory socket, just like a car’s cigarette lighter port. You can plug in phone chargers, heated gear, or other 12V accessories just grab a standard motorcycle compatible plug. Handy for power on the go! Pic would help confirm, but that’s almost certainly what it is.
Just popped in to say thanks to all who assisted me in my quest for knowledge. Got this all sorted now and happy that i can put my phone on the Bonnie Sixty for charging and directions. Just need to do something similar for my Bonnie street scrambles. But i may get it wired up to take my Tom Tom rider that has sat in my garage now coming up on two years and has only been used once to go to Ireland. Will let you know what i decide. But thanks for the assist.
