Just looking, it's still pissing down out there !
Bought some shyte from a cheap shyte shop, ( sort of a walk in Temu ) called V7 De - Rust .. 200ml $2.00, haha .. so gonna have a wee go at the chrome spokes that have got a little rust on the Bonnie ... just the odd one here @ there, was told it's common ? so ... ?
And check the tyres .. twice now the front has lost pressure a bit, and the rear for the first time ?
Sure I seen somewhere (here ? ) others discussing this, with the spoked wheels ?

Yesterday cleaned the bike and polished it then tried the old flasher relay to see if the clock would work again but nope so put the car one back in new correct one should be here in 10 days then lubed the drive chain. Cannot believe the handbook says it's supposed to be done every 300km .......................... Oh well.

Then yesteday evening took her out for a little run ended up in the town down the hill which is 8km from home and decided to stop and have a drink ................ Orange juice Bulgaria is a zero tolerance on alcohol not that a lot of the locals take much notice but I am not risking it that's for sure. Had a chat with some of the locals there was a group of 4 plus the bar person. Despite b
eing here for a few years this is the first time I have actually stopped in the town in the evening and gone to a bar it was a nice bar too will certainly going back. So this morning just went out to clean the bugs off the bike and there were a lot of tiny little ones hundreds and hundreds of them .................... all clean again that's 550km now covered going nowhere!

A breezy run out over Holme Moss this evening.
    The TVM in low cloud....

    IMG_3186.jpeg

Finally found out what was causing an annoying buzzing sound on the LHS of the bike at just over 2000rpm. It only happens in a 1-200 rpm window so is obviously vibration related.
It had me foxed for a while but it turns out It was the flippin' badge on the clutch cover. It's a thin aluminium plate riveted to what looks like a hollow cast alloy back plate. I filled the gap with silicone and that's cured it.

    IMG_3188.jpeg IMG_3189.jpeg

I think I also have a problem with the tank breather in that the tank is pressurising when it gets warm from engine heat when parked up after a run or in the Sun. Releasing the cap gives a loud hiss and strong smell of fuel vapour.
That's not right. Apparently there's a recall out for the purge valve in the EVAP system which routes vapour from the tank, via an anti spill valve, into either the airbox or a charcoal cannister depending on how the ECU feels. I intend to remove the cannister, purge valve and associated tubing and vent the tank to atmosphere via the spill valve, just like the other bikes in the garage. If I get an ECU error light up I'll just leave the purge valve connected but doing nothing. It's all part of the Euro 5 crap no doubt.

That same badge arrangement has been commented on with the Speed and Scrambler 400's, causing engine noise/reverberation. Same solution, squirt in some silicone....

Yesterday I did a nice little buzz around the Cotswolds area for about 190 miles before work; absolutely cracking weather (of course, now I am no longer camping in Wales ).

Unfortunately I have not done anything on the tiger for nearly two weeks, following a trip to A&E a couple of weeks ago. My left knee finally gave up on me. Couldn’t stand on it for a week. Has improved this week, but I’m a bit concerned about it locking when I’m on the bike.
I’m in to see the knee Consultant in a couple of weeks. I’m hopeful to get a replacement scheduled fairly quickly.

So I’m very jealous of all you good people taking advantage of the beautiful weather [IMG]

I'm no doctor, but don't rush to get back on the bike, a mate of mine dropped his DRZ 400 on his knee, and as a result of that had to have his knee replaced. It's taking time to heal but with excersise all should be well. The last thing you need to do is drop that lovely Tiger, and bugger up your knee. Take it easy, put your feet up in the garden, and read the ride reports on here. You might get depressed reading them, but your day will come.

Fitted the new gear change rubber to replace the one held together by cable ties and the new proper flasher relay now the flashers work as intended and flash at the correct speed. The original gear change rubber had been cut the cabled tied together and after the struggle to fit the new one I think that it was done deliberately.

Out on the 765 tonight for what appears to be a bargain for the youngest.
I spotted a pair of camouflage RST bike trousers in his size on the Squires noticeboard the other night.
Only ten miles or so down the road, £25 later he's wearing them for the return trip :)

Just gave the Tiger a proper wash after a muddy trail ride cleaned out the chain gunk and checked tire pressure. Ready for the next adventure.
