Hello all. I am riding a Cardinal Red 2003 Bonneville, around the highways and byways of deepest, darkest Transylvania. There's some lovely riding around these parts. I just took part in the local chapter of the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, and Scarlet and I won the Most Distinguished Gentleman award I put it all down to Scarlet (that's my bike, by the way) shining classily through all the less classic bikes in the mix.
@Kara Welcome to the family. You are not a Vampire are you. Do tap the upload a file button bottom right corner and show all a picture of the bike. Nothing with fangs though
Thanks for the welcome! This is Scarlet. And the Berk who rides her... PS no fangs around here anymore. All the vampires moved to the capital and drive taxis.
As it happens I am in Transilvania too at the moment although without my trusty Street Cup. See if you can get to the Transfagarasan Highway while you are here. If Carlsberg made roads....etc.
Hi Obijohn. I have taken up permanent residence here. The Transgarasan Highway is indeed very cool to ride. I have heard the Transalpina is even nicer, it's on my list. Pity you are here without your ride.
Greetings. Wales is a country I have yet to go to. I'd love to ride there some day. But from what I have heard I should bring wet weather gear...
Hi there! Welcome to the forum! I will be in Transilvania soon. In August I will tour to and through your country.
Ahh. Something I might well do in the future (both residency AND the Transalpina ). We live in the UK but my wife is Romanian and we have a place just outside Brasov (Harman). Must say that over the years I notice more and more bikes in Romania - always a good thing.
There is a lot of bike activity in Romania and they are a pretty civilised lot too. Everything is available - Brasov has 4 bike shops and it's only a small city. Loads of bike clubs too. Traffic is not particularly hard on riders either, all the usual four wheeled idiots as anywhere but I find scooting about easy and without any sense of menace (ever tried riding in India?). A lot of nice countryside to see, with a castle on every second hill.
Welcome and have to agree that you have some very nice roads where you are not ridden them myself but did drive through back in 2017 on my way to Bulgaria where I now reside. That trip was in a TVR Chimaera so it suited those twisties. Now just having bought a sports tourer perhaps one day may make it out of Bulgaria to do some touring before old age makes it impossible This is my Triumph. Plezier
Nice. She'll do quite nicely on our country roads. I also like your dog I have four rescue mutts keeping me and my bikes company.
