Hi i am a new member with a 2009 Triumph America, a royal enfield meteor 350 and a 2005 vfr vtec.Today i have an issue, when changing the rear shocks on the america the bottom bolt sheared ,can you get a replacement bottom holder or is it the dreaded drill out, many thanks gary
Hi Gary, I'd say you'll have to drill it out & tidy up the threads when you're done. Just take it slowly, you got this . . .
@thebeach2008 Welcome to the family. What a bummer with the bolt. Try to put some pictures on topic. Just tap the upload a file button bottom right and someone may see another way to do the removal job. Plus be nice to see some of you bikes.
If it's sheared off flush, a left hand drill bit followed (if necessary) with a decent extractor. If there is enough of the bolt above the surface, welding a nut on is nearly always successful. With seized bolts and fasteners, heat is your friend so don't be afraid to use it if the first options fail.
