Today we did another family ride under "summer like" conditions. At 0800 we started to our meeting point with my daughter and her friend at a temperature of 18 degrees celsius. After one hour we arrived there at 24 degrees. Together we rode to the river Danube valley and the surrounding hills. It was a really nice ride and we rode about 200 kilometres together. For a short break we stopped at a famous view point and afterwards we headed to a local restaurant to get some coffee. Refreshed we rode another hour together and then splitted our group again. About one hour later we arrived back home. In sum we did today 353 kilometres with summer like temperatures up to 28 degrees. As always in the following some impressions. Our three bikes. Some views on our way. A small lake on our way. A view down to the river Danube. Some "Harley friends". A short stop at a red light. My wife next to me. The lake again.
Beautiful scenery! I rode the Danube valley once... on a bicycle! It was a river cruise, and one of our favorite days was riding through a small town with apricot orchards on both sides of us! In contrast, this was my ride last Friday! 12,180 feet above sea level in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was the first day the road was open for the season. I think that it will be a while before that visitor center opens, though (second photo). About 3 meters of snow has to melt first!
