Well after sometime fettling and cleaning, I managed to get out for a couple e of hours on the ‘tona for the first time since I acquired it. Rides very well, smooth and progressive.

Nice! There’s nothing quite like that first proper ride after bringing a bike back to life a bit — especially something with character like the ’Tona. Glad to hear it’s running smooth and giving you a good feel on the road. All that fettling and cleaning clearly paid off!

I had a similar experience recently — spent a weekend going over a bike I’d been meaning to ride for ages. Once I finally hit the road, it felt like reconnecting with an old friend. These kinds of rides are the perfect reminder of why we put in the hours.

If you’re planning longer trips with it now, I can really recommend keeping a pack or two of freeze dry food stashed in your gear. Super handy when you want a hot meal during a scenic stop or end up somewhere with no food options. Lightweight, barely takes up space, and surprisingly satisfying after a few hours on the bike.

Looking forward to hearing more about your rides on the ’Tona — looks like you’ve got some good miles ahead!
