Hi guys, I've just returned my S3 to the road after a long lay off.
Can anyone advise on what a normal running temperature is, it seems hot to me regularly in the high 90s and up to 100c while cruising at 85mph
I have flushed the system twice now with additive and coolant is a good colour.
Not sure if I'm.looking for an issue that isn't there or if I should do more work on her.
    Thanks.

    Is the radiator clean?

And check the rad cap that it is sealing right and the thermostat.

If it is the 955i model, then yes they do run a little hot.

Yes it's a late 955i, rad is clean fins all good and clear, I've got the rad off for a more thorough flush with a hose.
Will be refitting today and seeing how it goes.

Gents, all sorted. I am now confident that all of the gunk and crap gets stuck down the bottom of the rad and restricts it's overall capacity and effectiveness.
I refilled it the other night, took it out and with the ambient temperature at around 15 / 16 Celsius, the bike was running at between 82 & 90 depending on speed and if stuck in traffic. Out in the open cruising at 60, 70, 80 it was hapily at around 82 - 85.
I'm very happy, I also clicked with the bike, needs a few adjustments to the lever position and things - and I think I dropped the forks through the yokes too much, so need to raise the front a little, but it's really enjoyable to ride. :)

Yes definitely, especially as this was sat in a shed after the owner passed away... It's back from the brink.
