    This past Saturday, the smaller of Tucson's two Harley dealerships put on a very unique event called "Steel and Smoke". I've been to scores of events at both of Tucson's H-D dealerships (Saguaro and Old Pueblo) but this one was probably the best attended I've ever seen. What brought people out of the woodwork, you may ask? Whiskey and cigars! :joy::joy::joy:

    The event went from 4PM--8PM and Steve and I decided to drive the truck rather than ride. The flyer does say "Ride Safe. Ride Sober." after all. ;) Well, I did ride--in the passenger seat of Steve's Ford F150. :) When we arrived at about 6PM, things were in full swing. Tons of both motorcycles and cars and trucks. In fact, we had to park in the parking lot of the business next door! There was an Air Stream trailer converted to a "cigar bar" complete with comfy chairs and tables and footstools both inside and out. There was a live band. A food truck. And whiskey from a local distillery called Whiskey del Bac. I already had half a bottle of de Bac's "Dorado" whiskey in the cupboard at home that Steve gave me for Christmas. Proceeds from beer and whiskey sales went to benefit the Foreign War Vets Motorcycle Association.

    Here are some pics from the event which pretty much speak for themselves. Enjoy! We did! :grinning::heart:

    This bottle was my souvenir. No, not a freebie unfortunately! :joy: I'd never tasted this Whiskey del Doc "Distiller's Cut" but it's what I chose with my wristband. You bought a wristband for $10 which entitled you to one pour of any of their offerings of which there were three. I chose this one and liked it so much I splurged a bit later and bought another $10 wristband for another pour of the same thing. And after that I liked the Distiller's Cut even more so decided to really splurge and bought a whole bottle! :eek::joy:

    It’s a small local Tucson distillery, @sprintdave. I think it’s becoming a bit more known around the United States but I’m not surprised you’ve not heard of it in your part of the world. Yet anyway. It has been mentioned in good company in a magazine I subscribe to called Whiskey Advocate.

    Glad you enjoyed my rather off the beaten path report, @Marcus. Whether or not buying the whole bottle was a good decision remains to be seen.;):joy:

    @Sandi T:
    This depends on the speed how fast you and Steve empty/enjoy the bottle! ;):joy:

    @sprintdave, hi again. Here’s a link to the del Bac distillery which has a rather interesting story. The place is nowhere remotely near as old as distilleries in Europe… but ya gotta start somewhere. ;):)
