Some info for UK R3 owners looking for a remap.
I'm buying a 3:1 decat exhaust system from Paul Bryant at Viking exhausts in New Zealand:

Exhaust options, especially full systems, are thin on the ground for these bikes. The stock exhaust is very restricted in the headers. They look pretty but strangle the bike. Paul's system is about the only one on the market which addresses this and uncorks the bike's full potential. It's been months in development but is now market ready and he's taking orders.

Obviously it will need a remap and I thought this would be straightforward, but apparently not. I approached several trusted dyno shops and they all told me you can't remap the ECU on 2023 and onwards bikes. This baffled me as onwers in other parts of the world on the R3 owners forum have been remapping theirs.

However, I've finally found a dyno shop that can and has done several +'23 bikes already. It's Moto Hub in Stoke-on-Trent:

They can do a custom map with all power restrictions removed and the throttle ramp trimmed to sharpen it up. Cost £475.

I'm expecting substantial gains. Will post up results when done.

The R3's not really my bag but it'll be interesting to see what the big triple can really deliver.

It delivers quite a lot already. At 90 mph in 6th gear the amount of thrust it generates from the slightest sniff of throttle is ridiculous. But you can tell there's a lot being held back.

I bought mine as a replacement for my Harley 117 Low Rider S because that was killing my back with its silly riding position. I wanted a cruiser to complement my KTM 1190 Adv and Ducati Streetfighter, so I could enjoy where I was riding as much as what I was riding.
Other than the modestly forward foot controls and sheer size of it I'm not sure the Rocket is strictly a cruiser becuase it's capable of so much more. I could have one as an only bike. I wouldn't because I like variety, but if I had to I could live happily with just the Rocket.

I love riding my Rocket 3 R Storm. It really delivers!
In comparison to my BMW R1250RS which is also not a "slow" and "low accelerating" bike, the Rocket is rideable in an other dimension!;)
I am always surprised about "her" skills on small mountain B-roads, when moving through lots of small curves, too.;)
