    Hi guys

    2002 Speed Triple 955i - UK....

I've just replaced the pipes that go from the IACV to the throttle body with 1/4 silicon vacuum hose, as the old ones were perished and split.

Just reassembled everything, starts OK, and will idle, but when I blip the throttle, the revs drop and it cuts out. I can hold the throttle open at say 2k - 3k RPM, but let go, and cuts out.

I guess I've done something to the IACV - any suggestions? (I did not knowingly change anything, just connected the new pipes).
    Thanks.

@BlisterMan Welcome to the family. You may need a tune or remap to let the bike know it has something but it should pick up on its own. Also check for air leaks and fitting.

To gain access you will have removed the airbox and disconnected the MAP sensor which is attached to the airbox. The MAP sensor has a rubber hose attached to it's underside as well as an electrical connector. If removed have both been reconnected?

Quite possibly the rubber gasket that goes around the IACV was dislodged when you put the airbox back on. It's too easy to do. I used a few small spots of Blacktac around it to hold it in place before putting the airbox on.

Cheers for suggestions, I think I've covered all pipes to airbox, and all electrical connections. I've just taken it all apart again, and tried the check of the IACV stepper motor, and that seems to be doing what its supposed to. Checked seal on top of IACV. I bought an OBD cable and copy of TuneECU, but I'm struggling to see how to do a reset of the ECU, as it seems likely it needs to be reset after replacing pipes. Any advice there?
    Thanks.

Also - Anybody think I would get a different result from fitting original replacement pipes I have since purchased, instead of the silicon hoses?

Wouldn't have thought so, as long as they are the same bore size and length?

On TuneECU there should be a box to tick to reset Adaptions. If not, do the 12 minute reset tune.

Only if your new tubes are colapsing under the vacuum. I believe that's why the originals are rippled/corrugated to hold them open.
