I'm at 185 lbs full gear and have to MAX OUT the preload on my forks to get 36mm of sag. I was hoping to get it down to 33mm but stuck at 36mm. Anyone else having difficulty getting thier sag number on the forks?
More information will be helpful for a resolution. Year, mileage and previous service history. If you purchased the bike from a private seller. The history should be easy to obtain. Otherwise, I would consider them in need of service. Good luck
I would suggest you determine the stock spring rate. Compare it to the suggested spring rate for your use and weight. Most suspension companies have an online rate calculator. They will offer a sag number and air gap. The spring spacer length, oil rate all can play in to sag.
I don't know the travel on your forks but don't fixate on millimetres unless that's the figure that equates to 33% of total travel in the forks. "Rider sag" should always be set to 1/3rd travel..
I'd simply take it to an independent suspension specialist and get them to set it up specifically for you. Best £100 you'll ever spend.
